    BTW, nuclear reactors are not a new way of generating energy that was discovered in the last hundred and fifty years.

    Nuclear reactors are just a new(ish) way of heating water.
    Spinning turbines with steam to generate electricity is as old as your hat.

    I am now about to attempt to break the "lowest base jump" world record - and whats more I will do it without using a paracute.

    The original poster said "multiplied by x00,000", substitute an some integer for "x" and Bob's your Uncle, you've got a big number.

    Mars express is an ESA mission by the way.
    There are two twin NASA probes ('Opportunity' and 'Spirit') following on behind it. And a Japanese craft a bit behind that.

    But the main thing it tells us is that planets are able to form in regions/epochs that were previously thought impossible.... Hence, the possible number of planets in the universe just went up a whole load... Hence, number possible places for life to exist just went up a load ... Hence, greater chance of life existing spatial nearby... (Profit?)
