  1. Runner Ups on Ubuntu Hardy Heron Announced · · Score: 1

So much for Ubuntu "Horny Homo". Just kidding, I'll still call it that. The question is, can you use it in a dual boot configuration with Windows XP Homo Edition?

I think the code names are intended to be pre-release--once released the code name is officially dropped for a version number (though the code name is unofficially retained by most users including myself). Not quite. I happen to be writing this on a laptop with Kubuntu 7.10. The system refers to itself as "Feisty Fawn" in a number of places, of which the most obvious is Firefox' default start page, with its heading "Welcome to Kubuntu 7.04, Feisty Fawn!"
  3. Advantage of buying on Can Apple + AT&T Shut Down iPhone Unlockers? · · Score: 1

If you buy (i.e., pay money to actually own) a phone, you can do whatever you want with it in terms of modifying and reselling it. If you sign a contract in order to get a cheaper phone, there can of course be limitations in what you're allowed to do with it. It's all in the contract one signs.

I prefer to own my things, so I've always paid for my phones. A bit more expensive initially, but on the other hand I've never had a locked phone, and I've always been able to switch to whichever plan I've found best.

If it isn't possible to buy an iPhone, and if owning your phone is important, well then get another phone.

  5. Is the Internet Becoming = WWW? on Is the Internet Becoming Unsearchable? · · Score: 1

Why ask if the Internet is becoming unsearcable and then only talk about World Wide Web issues?

The Internet actually consists of many things, of which WWW is only a part, but I'm beginning to realise that more and more people, in particular those who are new to "The Net", have a hard time understanding that.
