Uhh...Fox News is owned by an Aussie, Rupert Murdoch. So don't generalize and label Americans as stupid just as I'm not generalizing and labelling all Australians as conservative propagandists.

I dont think Germany and France having an 4% and 8% muslim population wouldve had anything to do with their decision to not take part in the war. If anything, the only reason France might not have wanted to go to war with Iraq is because Saddam's Iraq owed them a war debt of 3 billion. I dont think the number of muslims had anything to do with it because we've got more muslims in America than they have in France and Germany, about 6 million. Even if they make up only ~2% of the population, that is still 6 million people. As for Germany's reason not to go to war with us, I'm guessing it probably had something to do with the UN weapons inspector Hans Blix not finding any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq prior to the war.

The Half Life 2 code was leaked awhile back, there still isn't a linux/amiga/c64 port or anything to do with it. The only thing that can happen is, you'll find a whole lot of cheaters on HL2 once it comes out. Same way, we can probably expect a bunch of viruses/worms at the most. If the guys at Wine get their hands on the code, (I doubt they'd want to, they could get in serious trouble.) you could probably have a lot more working win32 apps on linux.

I tried that link in IE6 from WinXP SP2 beta. It takes me to a Invalid Syntax Error page. However, if i replace the '%00' with a '%20' or %30 or whatever, it'll load the page, but won't give me the spoofed address. I get a [http://zcat.wired.net.nz/details.aspx]. So maybe they're delaying the release of the patch till SP2, which is freaking stupidity/ignorance on their part.

Oh well, Firebird performs better for me anyhow.

It's amazing how you can have so much functionality and interesting products surface out of the free linux kernel but still not dominate the market. Reminds me of this joke :

if operating systems ran the airplanes

Air DOS Everybody pushes the airplane until it glides, then they jump on and let the plane coast until it hits the ground again. Then they push again, jump on again, and so on...

Mac Airlines All the stewards, captains, baggage handlers, and ticket agents look and act exactly the same. Every time you ask questions about details, you are gently but firmly told that you don't need to know, don't want to know, and everything will be done for you without your ever having to know, so just shut up.

Windows Air The terminal is pretty and colorful, with friendly stewards, easy baggage check and boarding, and a smooth take-off. After about 10 minutes in the air, the plane explodes with no warning whatsoever.

Windows NT Air Just like Windows Air, but costs more, uses much bigger planes and takes out all the other aircraft within a 40-mile radius when it explodes.

Linux Air Disgruntled programmers decide to start their own airline. They build the planes, ticket counters, and pave the runways themselves. They charge a small fee to cover the cost of printing the ticket, but you can also download and print the ticket yourself. When you board the plane, you are given a seat, four bolts, a wrench and a copy of the seat-HOWTO.html. Once settled, the fully adjustable seat is very comfortable, the plane leaves and arrives on time without a single problem, the in-flight meal is wonderful. You try to tell customers of the other airlines about the great trip, but all they can say is, "You had to do WHAT with the seat?"

They didnt wanna tell anybody that they're liquidating, because they wanted to suprise us on Christmas. No more fud, nothing, leaving us Linux users in peace. Those uptight people from Utah are nice after all. And to think we were accusing them of trying to make the Linux community bad. tsk tsk. Let's all mail darl@sco.com and tell him how sorry we are :P
