What you've really got is a way to display 4 dimensions of data (3D plus color). There's lots of high-dimensional data sets in the world. The stock market springs to mind. Imagine looking at various ticker symobls and having price, volume, time, and delta (since start of day?) all shown at once.
How about going to a local high-school with a pack of beer for the first geek-kid who can crack it? Oh wait, geek kids don't like beer. A lot cheaper and a lot more likely to get an honest review.

Being a "media" list, I'm surprised Mr. Bezos did't rate. He was / is one of the few big Internet only stores, he's in the crosshairs for his patents...what else do you need?
I'm not sure whether or not "purchased" product placement is allowed on TV. But there is a reason these placements work better with movies than TV... syndincation. When a show is sold into syndication, the person buying wants to sell ad time all over again, that's their revenue stream. They don't want to be stuck with the ads already "baked in" with no room for their own ads time. Sure, people finance shows in hopes making money on ads, but REALLY big money is made by selling into syndication. Think about how much of the TV day is taken up by shows that already ran, but this time with new ads in them. When TV first started, shows were "brought to you by Geritol". The entire show. The current ad model, with syndication slapped on for good measure is enormously more profitable the same investment in an episode of Friends (regardless of how much the actors get paid per show) can leveraged against selling the ad time again, and again, and again.
A good resource for this type of thing

Wiring Your Home?

I've found www.hometoys.com to be a great place to check out the latest in all this stuff. It's not just an X10 site. There are a series of articles about home wiring (think wire closet, star-topology, like a corporate network for everything).
[SARCASM ON] With most cards, anything you purchase with the card is protected somewhat (extended warranties, and such). If this guy wins, we have a new "feature" to credit card purchase protection. If I do something illegal (buy drugs, buy sex, buy gas while kidnapping someone, etc.) I'm protected. The only problem could be that it might be difficult to find a drug-dealer who take credit cards. No problem! I simply go to an ATM, get a cash advance charged to the card, and the card company is responsible for everything I do with that cash. [SARCASM OFF]
C'mon everyone. When you get a credit card, you sign a contract. You should read the contract. By signing you promise to pay your debts. Be an adult, keep you promises.
[rde said]...If I were planning an illegal activity over the internet, you can be damn sure I'd use 1024 bit pgp encryption. It wouldn't matter a damn what wiretapping facilities were in place if all they could read was encrypted crap. They'd only be able to read the mail of the innocent and the naive.
[kbyrd replied] I totally agree here. With traditional communication media (telephone, snail mail, speaking face to face), encryption isn't as easily available (how many of you have a voice scrambling system for your phone?). On the 'net, encryption IS easily available. If you believe that wiretapping should be allowed at all, it makes sense to be able to wire tap phones, the average phone call is difficult to encrypt cheaply. With the net, encryption is (usually) free and easily available, especially if you're talking about email. I don't see that wiretaping has as much of a benifit here.
It would be great to get a notification on a wireless device (PDA, cell phone, beeper, whatever) when I'm near an area "under surviellence". If someone is snapping pictures, the least they could do is tell us so we could pose a bit.
Check out Flix by Wildform.
There as a 3rd possible outcome...however unlikely. 3) NP = P. This would change quite a few notions about computing complex problems however.

...is display that hologram of Princess Leia from the first (at least released first) Star Wars.
THAT's Informative? Sheesh, there goes the neighborhood.
Since most offtopic/flamebait/troll posts are short (usually like "phirst pozt"), let's train this thing to filter them out!

Calm down a bit. I meant "high-end" as the high price range to which the original post refered. It specified 3 catagories, this fits into the highest.

Does it? Does it do have it's own program guide information and scheduling software? I'm not familiar with the product.
?? Did I strike a nerve? Or just miss a punch-line?

If you have anything beyond a trivial A/V setup. this is for you!
It's definetly on the high end...but worth it.
