I think the reason why people don't like MS in the console effort is because as consoles turn into "set-top media hubs" there "trusted" hardware scheme is put in to play and once again the things you could of done, you now can't. That and I have a hunch that half that hardware in that box comes from overseas...much like buying and american car that is made in Korea. I think more hondas are built here in the US than most "american" cars are
In all this talk about a "open" protocol and client that doesn't have spyware, Im suprised that I never hear/.'ers talk about OpenFT/giFT client. I had been using it regularly but constant changes to the protocol and server updates made me look else where. Even though this was a problem I'm supprised there isn't a bigger community pushing giFT and there efforts to help make it a solid product. I noticed they have more clients and one that works with windows now (cross plat is good). Like I said its been awhile since I used it but at the time I loved it. After reading this post I revisted their site and it looks like they are making progress so Im assuming that they have a some what more stable protocol that doesn't get changed all the time. I think./'ers should either take a look at it or give it another try like I AM!
I have been trying to figure out why Gnome is so popluar. Don't get me wrong I don't think its a bad gui but when givien the choice of Gnome or KDE, I prefer KDE. I just think the asthetics of KDE seem better and how the include utilites that interact with Linux for system Config. I mean we was a community want choice and by all these companies pushing Gnome....would things become more like MS as technology progresses and Gnome becomes more of a INTERGRATED part of the system? and would this push KDE into the trenches and be hard to install/configure. Once again Im not trying to troll but this polls to other GUI's like Fluxbox, Blackbox and Windowmaker

I being a Michigander only had the radio to figure out "what in the bejesus" was going during the blackout that hit. Before I decided to listen to the radio all I knew was that I went through 3 cities and NOTHING was working. Radio was there to tell me what in the heck was happening. So I still like the radio and will DEFEND IT TO THE END!
