    Thats one hell of an assumption about their strategy based on absolutely no solid information.
    I'd prefer to buy something thats factory overclocked because then you know what it can at least get to and you have some comeback if it doesn't.
    You're totally on your own with a founders edition, they're not going to take it back if it doesn't OC at all, since It already met the advertised specs. ...and what do you think is happening with all the chips that don't bin very well? As long as they work at stock speeds they're not going to scrap them as long as they work. Theyre going to stick them in cards that are sold without factory OC, such as the founders edition.

    Founders edition should be called knuckle-draggers edition. Its clocked at factory speeds and about $80 more than other versions that are functionally identical but are factory-overclocked so come with better performance.

    Its a great idea but completely unrealistic. It doesn't take human nature at all. Most humans are not even close to logical thinkers, or even being able to do so. In fact most of us are apparently hardwired to do illogical irrational things, even in the face of overwhelming evidence.

    Just one example is the billons of people that partake in the invention of and systematic belief in multiple religions, even though the most unintelligent person can see none of those religions are even internally logically consistent much less have any scientific basis.

    What bullshit. The established music industry has already completely killed innovation. They want a nice zero-risk predictable business model based on marketing not creativity, because anything creative is new and by definition unpredictable so a necessarily higher financial risk.

    I think you're wrongly painting the entire embedded space with the same brush. I work in said space. Sure there are toaster controllers or whatever that would happily run on an 8 bit pic, but honestly there is a lot more heavy duty stuff going on than that in the majority of the embedded world.
    At least everything I've worked on in the last 20+ years would have benefited from 64 bit/moar powa!!!.

    Are you thinking just of people that still have ancient hardware, or do you also mean for new products?
    Is there really anything new that is still 32 bit? For sure Arm, Atom and of course desktop CPUs have all gone 64 bit ages ago. What's really left?

    I totally agree. I never did get what anyone ever saw in Evans.Have no idea why the BBC ever hired him for anything,
    GT (the old TG team) will be hitting Amazon Prime in supposedly 8 weeks or so with a budget per episode that makes what the BBC gave them look like pocket change. Just what the doctor ordered to get rid of the awful aftertaste of the first season of the new Top Gear.

Hopefully the BBC have finally come to their senses and will now put Chris Harris in charge.
