Ever since dell has been outsourcing its support to India I have noticed an extreme decline in the qulity of service.
After sending 10 emails back and forth within the span of 12 hours the moron staff kept 're-suggesting' methods, and used templates and just pasted links to knowledge base articles. Basically, I told them my PC wouldnt boot, and then they would suggest that I went in the the control panel.
Anyway... I ended up paying $50 for a long distance phone call to fix it, over the phone the gtuy was very helpful. And he actually listend, I guess it makes a difference when you know that you cant hide behind a computer and a generic email address.
my little theory is that games are getting much more mature, and Nintende is sticking to the types of games that they have been marketing for years. They have mainly been marketing to the younger generations.
To prove this point, jsut take a look at their system, sure, it looks good, i guess, but not anything like their competitors' systems. It, in comparison, looks childish.
In order for N's next system to flourish, they will need to develop for the older audience, by making a sexier/sleeker system, and by designing games that appeal to older people. After all, the people that grew up w/ mario are now playing Vice City, and N is still making Mario games.
Nintendo has the technology, they just need to re-evaluate how they should make best use of it.
Also, Nintendo's console is good, it is up their with the best, but what makes the console is the games. Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft all lose money on each console they sell. The money is in the games.
note: I do not intend to hate Nintendo, I love their games, but as the gaming population gets older, sellign to the older audience would be in their best interest.
as long as there are people who have access to power, (or privelages), then there will be the chance that they will abuse it, and cause havoc.
unfortunatly, the only way to stop it would be to to background checks, and keep all employees uner surveilance etc etc... it is not practical, and would not be worht the company's while.
Until more events such as this happen, companies will not invest the money needed to protect them from inside jobs.
Are you complaining? because you bought the "POS", so, dont bitch about it. Besides, you can either slide the tray front off and slide the CD out, or you can just pull out the tray all together
And what happens if the person who is opening the CD drawer really has no right to and then completely screws up [the programs]?
Then your computer will crash, or you might lose your work.
So I ask you this:
What happens if the person who presses reset has no right to and your computer restarts.
Tough.
Are you suggesting that we get keys to eject CDs and reset/start the computer? Pressing RESET can be a lot more harmful than ejecting a CD, lest make that controlled by the OS too.
I have only bought one recharger before, and it was for a camera that takes 4 AA Batteries. in this case the convenience of not having to re-charge is outweighed by the money that is money that is saved.
Something that is so fundamental to the internet will not be changed unless it absolutely has to. When the IP addresses are about to run out then ISPs and servers will support IPV6. Then, when the IPs DO run out, new IPs will be IPV6. THEN, once people see the advantages, and that change MUST occur, they will.
The bottom line is this:
The people who write the checks are going to want to postpone this dilema for as long as possible. It is not an investment, per se, but something that HAS to be done 'down the road', this is why companies are not spending money on the change now.

once you unmount it you can physically pull it out... The CD wont scratch or anything, provided that it is horizontal.
