Im an Australian voter and I think that compulsory voting is great (I think that Belgium has this also). At least I know that my government is a representation of all the citizens - not all the voters.
I do wonder however, how easy would it be to abstain using an electonic system - I know of some people that try and think of the most interesting thing to fill in the boxes that are supposed to be numbered 1 to 7 for example "BLUEHAT" - can you still abstain?
