People have been studying spatial acoustics for a long time now and if I read that article right thats all Fraunhofer is doing. I mean as was already stated you can get a surround effect from a pair of headphones (which EAX tried to do already). It just looks to me like they are doing somthing that has already been done and branding it.
btw here is an example of spatial acoustics it only works with headphones.
Why dont they just do what Prince did and just use a random symbol and get everyone to wonder how they'll pronounce it only to fall back to the original name anyway (i.e. software formerly known as drake).

By that reasoning could'nt I just go out and buy a set of encyclopedias and own all the info therein?
