This could make a good aprils fool joke.
I was convinced they would only use decent stable software to power up atm's.
Soon you could call Diebold with the following error message.
GPF in cashpocket.vxd
There is a usefull alternative:
apt-get a debian utility has been ported to use rpm's. There are several apt repositorys
http://bazar.conectiva.com.br/~godoy/apt-howto/
I'm using it since a few years.
It's as good as up2date, solve dependecies automaticly and its completly free.

If you need an acehole, hire some staff of SCO.
I doubt you still get the possibility to hire a former coder, since there is no one left who knows exactly what is original SCO source code.
So at some point, the screening procedure make sence to me, but only as you see it as a statement.
Since there are no job offers at the moment, just consider it as a statement.
The real damage is done when someone act as discribed. Of course no one wanna hire a former CEO executive? But some of the SCO people might be valuable, in spite of their company's policy.

At least for the SCO share holders who sold out.
Most likely, You've get a arrangement between the existing parties (RH and IBM). The lawsuit get's dropped, at SCO change of managment.
Reason? The stockprise has get the highest value it would ever reach.
This will put a few SCO people unemployed, while the managment walks away with the cash.
This will never reach the court. To much FUD.
The ATM's I know, have a SCM module inside, protected with tamper switchs, in a vault.
For the encryption, RSA asymmetric keys are used.
I guess you wouldn't walk far with NT RAS hacks.
At least you need a supercomputer to crack this.
There are several security mechanisms involved.
