Some folks are unhappy with the standard Wintel setup too.

I like two button mice as much as most "power users", but why do you rag on Apple for things they insist on doing but not on other hardware companies do too, unless your being bias based on your own preferences.

"Internet TV implementation runs easier than I've seen with any other program" That's called bulk. If I want to watch Internet TV I'd download a program specifically designed for it. "Throw in all the customization possibilities as opposed to iTunes limiting look, and the strong community support with plug-ins for nearly anything imaginable" iTunes supports plugins, I don't know what the limits are, as for skins, that's something Apple has always seemed to not try to implement on anything. I'm not bashing Winamp, it's been around for a while, but my last experiences with Winamp 3 (I stopped using it after that) were horrible, not only was I forced to mess around with technical settings to get rid of an annoying hiss in the background but in my opinion the sound quality of Winamp at that time was worse than Windows Media Player. Custom skins and visualizations are nice, but the primary function of the program is more important to me. Maybe things have changed since then but now I use the rendezvous (did I spell that right) features of iTunes to allow me to stream my music from my powerbook to a desktop PC that's connected to full powered speakers (since I'm too lazy to keep unplugging and plugging in stuff). I prefer to conserve hard drive space and not have to worry about syncing libraries. The only other place I have my music is my iPod which dispite what Apple says, you can get your music library back off of without 3rd party utilities (unix terminal works). As far as I can see, even with the features you mentioned, The Winamp developer's only invention was clashing features and improving on problems with their software previously. Just remember Winamp has been in development for a lot longer than iTunes for Windows has, you can't expect Apple to optimize and have every feature Winamp has within the first major version release, that's asking too much.

Last time I heard, iTunes supports music players other than the iPod, the iPod is just the only one that supports AAC and that's the fault of the companies that make the other players.

iTunes is definitely the best in terms of overall quality and and ability (note how many other jukeboxes are trying to rip off). I'm sure some people rather not have a meg added to their download just because people like you want 15 options in codecs, most of which are never going to be used. The music jukebox thing may not be original for Apple but there are plenty of other options that didn't invent the music jukebox idea either, including your beloved winamp5.

An invention is nothing more than a solution to a problem, and that is what Apple did, unless you have another definition then you're just another person again whining that Apple gets credit for something just because it's only an improvement on already existing concepts and not some totally new, unheard of, and unbelievable new program that has it's own new format that nobody else uses...oh wait then you'd be whining about it being proprietary.

They'd probably have an advantage in the tablet market for people who want high-end tablet machines if they didn't cheapen the hardware for it, since as of now you can't get a tablet PC that matches the highest end non-tablet laptop.

But I'm sure Apple won't be entering the tablet market until it's more stable, they don't need to try anything new right now as they're making money on iPods.

Well, I'm pretty sure the reason they only released it on XP and 2000 is because 1) It's best to support the newer OS first and 2) XP and 2000 is much better in terms of stability, hardware support, etc so iTunes should "just work" better on those OS versions. The problem with using a processor serial number from the pentium is that there are again different brands of processors (AMD is one). So it's harder to do that stuff. But yeah, it's also possible that Apple is using some MS thing to help keep itunes music secure.
