We use gas for the same reason we were all pushed away from public transportation about 40 years ago. For the same reason we all live way out in the suburbs and have to drive for miles (one person per car) in our gas-guzzling SUVs to get anywhere that we need to go. Who benefits from this type of system? The auto industry and the oil companies, two of the most powerful "interests" in the country. That's how much influence mega-corporations have on our lives. They will continue to use their influence (money) to change the way we live in order to improve market conditions.

That's how it was originally intended to work yes, but we have strayed far, far from that. This is, in my opinion, the principle way we have strayed in this country. The courts have way more power than they were intended to have. Blame Marbury vs. Madison.
If the courts are "interpreting" the law and the Constitution, are they not effectively "making" the law? Shouldn't this be the function of Congress, who are more directly influenced by the people?
Hmm this might say something if every web page page that contained "evil" content contained the word "evil", or every word that contained "good" content contained the word "good". Besides the fact that these are largely subjective terms, and the fact that a very small portion of the web is even indexed in search engines.
What I don't get is why everyone is so eager to get in on this in the first place? It's just money. I would expect people around here to care a little less about these sorts of things.

I have a Zoom PCMCIA modem for my laptop and it works fine with Linux. I found lots of options for non-Winmodem PCMCIA modems for around $100.

We are all self-taught.
Not so. I take it you haven't seen wmtetris. It is very small.
