You are right. You just get a good manufacturing infrastructure up and running. Ship a few smelters over and stuff. And then you can open call centers. On Mars. Christ you space nutters are something else. How are you going to build that rocket on Mars to "loft 3x as much mass"? With parts from Mars Rocket Home Depot?
Oh yes the old "European colonization" comparision. Going to Mars is NOTHING like going to the New World. You are right though: sending refining and smelting equipment to MARS AND THEN SENDING THE IRON BACK is much more efficient then just MAKING IT HERE. Christ. Really?
Sure. We will just send 6 meters of lead along in our rocket ship. And we will all live under 6 meters of lead. On Mars. We will eat the lead too. You put that degree to good use. Thanks for the plan.
That is because you can't have dialog with space nutters. They just say things like "well we will live underground" (how?). I mean just think about that one statement: how do you dig down on Mars to build a livable structure? With what? An excavator? How does the excavator get there? Is there a Home Depot on Mars? What powers it? Does it work on 1/3G? How do you build a roof? Do you need bricks? Are you going to make them there or bring them too? What about air and water? In the meantime you are being bombarded by radiation and there is no oxygen. Of course someone will just come along and say "we will melt the permafrost to get water and oxygen". You just can't win.
Well as a space nutter I am sure you see space based manufacturing as totally viable of course. And of course it will be done by nubile "space slaves". I saw that episode on Star Trek too.
Of course. To a space nutter everything is "solvable". Some things are not solvable. This is one of them. You cannot change human biology. We would quickly die due to the radiation and differences in gravity. The idea is ridiculous.
Its nice to know that micrometeorites and radiation can be stopped by diaper gel. However the question was referring to how are you going to deal with the radiation when you get to the surface of Mars. Oh wait I know: they can just wrap themselves in diapers.
Oh of course. Silly me. We will simply "bioengineer" humans. Because we know how to do that. We grow bioengineered humans all the time! I forgot! Thanks for the tip! The stuff that comes out of space nutters mouths is astounding. It is like they have lost grip with reality.
There will never be a city on Mars. That is a ridiculous concept. The radiation and differences in gravity would wreak havoc on humans and they would die relatively quickly. Humans have evolved to live on Earth, in Earths gravity and radiation level. You cannot change biology. Of course someone will just say "we will live underground on Mars!". But that is pure Scifi at that point.
Nice! I prefer to pay a fee to a mega corporation every month instead of managing my music library. As an added bonus Apple can hike to fee every month in perpetuity whenever they need to bump their quarterly income. All hail Apple!
I don't get it. Who cares? Don't all those apps have banners/ads/etc loaded with malware already?
The site was bought out by a bunch of SEO people. CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! It will shock you!
You are right. Test tube babies are bioengineered humans. The lack of basic science knowledge is the first thing you see in space nutters.
Sure. Just stick a straw in the dirt to get it, right?

"Water on Mars is not a significant hurdle". Do you guys really believe what you say?

Obviously "easy". We just dig holes using our shovels and cover our heads with diapers. On Mars.
I have a clue: 1/3 G would kill you. Your entire circulatory and skeletal system evolved here on Earth. We aren't going anywhere.

I bought mine here: https://nkna77c37nculpeh.onion... I'm sure they will ship it soon. Totally trustworthy.

"Secure slaves in space based manufacturing"? You watch too much Scifi.

Wow! Thats amazing. A notification? I was talking about paying money for a device that will be obsolete in 2 years. That is stupid.
You are right. Many times I wish I could copy some text on my iPhone and paste it on my laptop. Christ. Apple fanboys are something else...

You got that right! Maybe with version 10 they will make something useful.
Is iTunes still the most awesome piece of software ever to exist? Or did they improve it?
Why would you pay anything for a device that would be obsolete in 2 years? The mind boggles.
I am sure the entire userbase which consists of Google employees who who were given them and then put in their drawer at home will be disappointed.
