    Is not unexpected. A recent study showed that "morning people" were more successful and happy with their lot in life. Late risers were more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs, watch too much TV and masturbate.

    I had busybox on my list of tools I used and cut a systems with it using slack, but I got paranoid
    after the latest kernel requirement and bailed to debian for the tools. In the end, I SUCKED and DIED.

    I tried to build up a RT Linux distro using the latest release from kernel.org while trying to support a OMAP processor. Needless to say, since they wanted it in 30 days, I didn't get it all put together. I was shown the door. even though I had the x86 version running.

    was proposed in a 70's IEEE publication I read while killing time at the computer center help desk as a student.
    It was thought at that time that microwaves could be used safely to heat the occupants directly, without raising the
    ambient temperature. Apparently this idea did not fly after later scrutiny.

    Now I understand why Portland State University's computers were in the sub-basement back in the 70's.
    On the other hand, A IBM 1130 and Honeywell H300 build from discrete transistors and core memory would have probably
    survived a direct nuclear blast.

    Yep, We had 2 old wavetec audio distortion meters used for calibrating aviation ILS tone frequencies. One was purchased new. The other I picked up at R2D5 surplus in Portland. Both were calibrated by a outside service and the deviation was about 20% right after calibration. I don't know if we got ripped off, Or the meter just wasn't accurate?!?. The R2D5 box was owned by the FAA before I picked it up ( complete with FAA cal stickers on the screws ). Analog is just that, ANALOG. FWIT I'm buzzed too.

    At 110/300 Baud, you did a lot of mental pre-processing of your requests.
    Listing out hundreds of lines (unless you were getting a listing) was
    not the way to go.
    Vi runs OK at 1200 baud on a 24X80 display, If you know that you're
    looking for.
