  1. Oh please, people on Sci-Fi Movies and 'Bad Science' · · Score: 1

If we were constrained by the limits of "REAL SCIENCE", the entire sci-fi genre would be the most boring thing ever.

  2. Hypocrisy Police, we have a warrant on Itagaki Criticizes Dead Or Alive Hackers · · Score: 1

So you come out with a pure cheeseball game like DOABV, teasing us with pseudo nudity, and you dont comprehend why some nerd hacker would take ten minutes to strip out your texture files and edit them. Is Japan actually on its own planet these days? I mean seriously. Don't crank out wank-fest games like this(hey, nothing necessarily WRONG with that), and then criticize others for not spending their time on WORTHY pursuits.

You big nerd. I mean, honestly. I think Capcom is trying to give us an example of a CHUGOKUJIN coming to Japan, realizing that they are FAR SUPERIOR in every way, then adopting their language and idioms. Right.

  4. Biggest waste of slashdot space EVER on Lara's Identity Confused By Exploitation? · · Score: 1, Insightful

What was lara about in the beginning? BOOBS. LOOKIE HERE AT MY BOOBS. LIMEY BOOOOOOOBS, CHECK OUT MY BOOOOOOOOBS. But somewhere in there, they actually managed to make a PRETTY GOOD GAME. So it sold like hotcakes. I would have bought TOMB RAIDER if it was Earl from "Toe Jam and Earl." The boobs weren't what made the game great. SINCE THEN, however, everything they have put out has been shit, INCLUDING those awful movies. The "Lara Croft" phenomenon has become nothing more than media-perpetuated bullshit.

  5. this kind of crap really isnt valid any more on What Type Of Gamer Are You? · · Score: 3, Interesting

consoles destroyed the nerd strangelhold on gaming. 15 years ago when you HAD to have a PC to play the GOOD GOOD high tech games, being a nerd was a prerequisite to being a serious gamer, because you had to invest a lot of money in a computer that most people had no need for AND you had to havet the expertise to run it. Once consoles caught up with PCs in terms of gaming power(which wasnt too long ago), all of that ended. Now ANYONE can pretty much play any game they can wrap their brains around. I work for a "large multimedia rental chain" and I can tell you the people coming in to rent games are NOT nerds.

  6. Meh on History Of 3D Fighting Games Explored · · Score: 2, Insightful

3D fighters are usually fun, I certainly love DOA2 & 3, but they just dont seem to have the same visceral feel and amazing variety as the old 2D stuff. It has always seemed to me that the old school 2D fighters had tons more personality, and for some reason, smacking down some Chun Li whore with a loser like Balrog or Dhalsim hasn't yet been equaled.

  7. Uhhh... on OpenOffice.org for Mac Delayed Two Years · · Score: 0, Redundant

Appleworks? I dont want to get all TROLLY TROLLY, but this is less of a wah wah wah no OpenOffice and a lot more of a wah wah no free word processor. Obviously, no one really feels GOOD about running MS Office on their mac. While I can certainly understand wanting openoffice on the Mac, let's not start crowing about how no good word processor/office suites are available AT ALL.

  10. Re:Moularity on Gaim Speaks Out on MSN Ban · · Score: 1

I don't know, I think that as the MPAA continues to bring overblown lawsuits at random college kids, etc, they will continue to lose face in the eyes of the public. Not to mention that the music industry is in an awful downward spiral as it is, for reasons not pertaining to file sharing. So they are in a sinking ship anyway. The RIAA and MS are really two separate issues. Anyway, this was far too off topic.

Awful awful suggestion. Skip a lawsuit through plausible deniability? Please. The better route is to cause such an outcry and stink that MS backs down.

  14. Motivations are obvious on Gaim Speaks Out on MSN Ban · · Score: 3, Insightful

The sole reason for them to do this is to push usage of their proprietary client, duh. Also, to the "would you let people wander around your house for free" analogy, that doesnt quite fit. All they have to do is dress a little differently(use a different client) and no one cares. Off topically, I am vastly dissatisfied with all of the PC chat clients. The proprietary ones are all ad laden or crap, and the multi protocol ones leave a lot to be desired. Both gaim and trillian seem a little klunky to me, and far less configurable than they should be. Oh well.
