Plus the shuttle is really expensive comparitively. The shuttle barebones costs more than my full M-ITX rig. Granted, they're not really the same (P4 socket-run-anything-to-3GHZ versus 1GHz C3 soldered to the board). Shuttle with a Pentium will never be quieter than a passive C3 with an external power supply.
The SIDCE(tm) (Slashdot Incoherent Data Completion Effect) will fill in the details I'm lacking in this post.
Some [fld1] years ago, my old man told me he saw a TV show on Discovery [fld2] channel about soldiers stationed at the [fld3] radar station in Alaska. When on Guard duty, they would often stand in front of the giant parabolic [fld4] radar units because they would be a few [fld5] degrees warmer, this effect was attributed to them actually being "cooked" [fld6]by the waves. Now I guess they likely ended up with an elevated cancer risk [fld7], but if they didn't get it in three hours of exposure, the chances are pretty slim that cell phone user #1 did either[fld8].
* SIDCE(tm) is the amazing technology whereby inaccuracies or omissions will be corrected in near-real-time by collective encyclopedic knowledge. To speed corrections, a standard has been proposed where you provide delimited fields for obvious points of contention (see article above). NOTE: Commercial product announcement on hold, pending resolution of claims that SIDCE uses Intellectual Property owned by SCO.
I wouldn't lump these two together as far as technology is concerned. For example, IIRC Mennonites are allowed to own and drive cars, while Amish can't.
Yes, and Mennonites are allowed to use Vi, whilst the poor Amish must make do with Emacs.
it seems like bibles really drive new technologies when it comes to text. gutenberg being the obvious example for movable type, up to those litte electric bibles that franklin made and johnny cash endorsed.
Odd that the Bible drives Text technology and Porn and video games drive graphical technology. Is the PDP-8 the "one true way"?
Because terminals were monochrome so they never had the option. But even in those days, you could always code an inverse where you had black characters on whatever "color" your tube was. It had nothing to do with how easy they were to read.
Yea, woe is unto me. Yet, how may I returnth unto thine graces? Lords of Akron, they did cast aside offers of sustinance of their fathers and shun the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to pursue their divine truth. Under Eno they did prosper, and in the days and years that followed, born unto them was Cake. And it was good.

The person who made this statement has obviously never been to a bar in Canada.

Christian Slater and Christian Brando had NOTHING to do with creation of this nation. I Exalt Brittney, though Christina looks hotter lately.
mmmMMMmm. Where BSD? If only this system running, better it would.
