Of course, MS's response time of several days absolutlely sucks compared to lunix's standard 8-month period.

I wish this site would stop bashing MS and realise that they do a good job. I mean seriously; how obscure is this bug? Its hidden underneath heaps of files and procedures; if i was the programmer responsible i'd be proud of what i had accomplished, if this is the best that the critics could come up with.

Yeah, remember September 11, 2001? They spread some punk ass story about "planes crashing into the WTC".. I'm willing to bet $50 that some cheap bastard just sold them and passed it off as such.

None of these systems has reached ten installations.

Is there a reason for that? Surely, if these systems are as efficient and "ground breaking" as the creators claim, why don't we see more of them?

Sounds like they have some minor 'teething' issues to me; I'll wait until they become more widespread and "advanced" until I trust my car with them.

  15. Have these faults been adressed? on Inside a Mechanical Parking Garage · · Score: 0

What exactly happens if/when the computer running the system screws up and drops your car a couple of storeys or damages it in some other manner? Surely there must be some kind of contingency, like a human supervisor or something; I wouldnt trust my car with a completely automated garage. I suppose it could be exploited though; a spoofed magnetic card might be a valid way to attack this system, like with phone cards and train tickets.

Was i the only one who noticed that the Sharp PDAs are (at best) less than beautiful in case design?

To be honest, I'm not highly impressed with overall package anyway, but it was the case in particular that got my attention.

For example, look at the Palm Tungsten serieis, the Sony Clie NX series, etc. Those are some *really* nice looking handhelds. The Sony Launcher also looks nice (but is let down by its practicality).

When I see pictures of these Sharp PDAs, they just don't excite me -- it is suicidal from an advertising perspective. If anything, its only redeeming feature is the VGA screen (I cant wait till a VGA Palm unit is released).
