idk, it's not like she lost the use of her facebook account, or phone during those signups. It is mildly harrassing, but isn't there a way to make an event invite only on facebook?
Most larger projects would probably be happy to work with you to add something if you pay them for it, and allow them to be the unconditional owners of said product when it was done(so they can release and update the open source software in the future).
As for the UI usability, hire a consultant to work with the project. I'm betting most would be open to that as well.
that sounds like the schools problem, not google's google has ways/methods in place to handle these use cases. What percent of users need them? Not that i would like being left out, but sometimes these people seem to want some way for blind people to be able to become competitive shooters, or race car drivers, or fighter pilots, all of which really need you to use your vision and i start lumping them in with the crazies over at peta and greenpeace.
pay for a set of wedding photos by a professional and have him shoot all he wants for 5+ hours.... i got back 4 dvds worth of pictures for i think it was 6 hours of my life.
is this the part where we start shouting YESNOYESNOYESNO back and forth until one of us passes out and is therefore declared the looser? Repeating yourself is usually a sign that you are trying to convince yourself as well as others that you are right.
Early Rome (corruption and size made it not function in the end) Ireland shortly after the romans, and before the saxons. The vikings used is system similar to a republic. A fair number of tribal systems are also similar.
There were/are quite a few human rights issues with the ones you listed, but they also did or are achieving things most other government systems could only hope to.\ in time frames that are similarly impossible.
right, now if only all political offices were elected by the people in the US you may have a point. The supreme court justices come to mind of power positions without a vote for their placement. I wonder who you talk to that thinks "democracy" == "direct referendum on practically everything". It seems to mean to me, that "all political offices that have the ability to make or set laws/precedents/war should be elected by a direct general vote of all legal residents of age who are in good standing" but then again what do i know.
Right, but i would love if my TV/ps3/media center understood me when i tried to talk to them... play "top gear series 16 episode 4", "volume level 6", "turn off" "switch input HDMI1"
Not all of us have in ceiling light. I only have 3 bulbs above 5 feet. Also have you seen what a cfl does at -15F? Here in MN just a few weeks ago we spent 7-10 days where the high was -5 with out wind-chill.
Anyways incandesents are not the end of the world. How about mandating better windows, or better HVAC equipment....
Last i checked, laptops and netbooks were mobile... or did you mean portable? or maybe "something with a cell phone radio as a primary communications device", and even that that gets blurry....
I'll need a pile more storage space in my cell phone to make that work. Have to seen the space requirements of Autodesk Inventor these days? not to mention the piles of custom parts that go along with it. Heck, we've got i7 machines with 12GB ram, an nvidia workstation cards, a raid 1 for storage, and an SSD as the "scratch"/OS drive and i still have files that bring it to it's knees. These files are fairly simple as far as the industry goes. Try running CFD on your phone sometimes.... some of these simulations take overnight on the above machine. 4 days later a phone will be 50% done...
My android phone, a my touch 4g, can't do my h264 lvl4.1 high profile dvd rips, the bit rates are too high, and i'm using the advanced features of h264. Most phones also will not play a simple streamrip of a blueray movie. granted i can't do it on my desktop without the help of my gpu.
if judging by angry birds and my current phone(my touch 4g), I'd say that multiple HD streams and the sims games will reduce my battery life from 1.5hours of gaming to 30 minutes or less. Unless these new SoCs also come with new battery tech it won't matter that my phone can do that. Even the iPhone doesn't have enough battery IMO. Needs to be on playing music(10-12 hours per day), checking the news, and say 30 minutes of angry birds a day for at least 5 days between charges. charges should take 10-15 minutes for a full charge, and batteries need to take 350-400 charge cycles without degrading or they need to be cheep and user replaceable.
Well, is it was caused by bugs in.Net's XML tools? sure MS's fault. Remember that linux is just a kernel, and the rest of the GNU software may or may not be running on this beast and most of the important software(the push server thingy) is likely to be custom in house stuff.
you just extract it(tbh anywhere you like, but convention says/usr/src/linux-$VERSION-$PATCH/) and then "cp../$OLDKERNEL/.config./ ; make oldconfig; make ; make modules_install; mount/boot; cp $ARCH/boot/bzImage/boot; $EDIT_BOOTLOADER_CONFIG; shutdown -r now"
On most binary distros you need some sort of dev tools, that changes based on distro, but should be simple.
P.S. Has Ubuntu fixed the deps on the kernel sources to include the build-utils yet? cause it's not like all i want to do when i install the sources is look at them.
Hmm uninterrupted intelligent coverage of MotoGP, F1, WRC, Dakar, LeMans, or just about any other motorsport other than nascar/drag racing is available for any cost in the U.S.A? Now add to that I have no interest in watching snowmobiles, golf, or football, and good luck finding a sports channel in the USA that is worth me paying for.
The issue for me is that the TV shows i do want to watch are available via things like PSN, but they cost almost as much to watch 1 or 2 shows per month as the whole of cable. They come to me DRM encumbered, so no sticking them on my phone to watch at lunch, or watching them on my computer. I would gladly pay say $10-20/month to have access to unencumbered cross platform ad free motorsport and other content, yet no one seems to want my money or if they do they want me to buy the super double plus platinum unicorn cable package for the low cost of $300/month, that won't let me record for timeshifting. Sorry live race in japan in the late afternoon, I'm not going to be up or around here in UTC-6.
As for why people cap and upload, to share content they like with other people, to feel like they are contributing to their community, to have a purpose other than eat junk food and sit on the couch. Hey it's better than some alternatives, they could get involved with a crazy religion like Scientology, or just go insane a start shooting people in a mall/curch/preschool/nursing home/etc. I highly doubt that very many/any of the cappers on TPB or mininova make much if any money, and until i see bank records showing otherwise i'm not going to by it.
hmm that seems like a good case for those "cloud" server things... just move all the VMs off to the other servers, reboot this one, add back VMs, and move along.

if only they would start sticking them on SD cards or the like where scratches don't matter.

i think you meant "turd sandwiches" and "giant douches" not the other way around. no need to offend anyone one here...

or all the "good" ones too...

probably to make an all in one home server/router/firewall.
Does the grocery store sell those?

you repackage it?!!!??

i thought it was "bourne again from years of learning"
hmm learn something new everyday....

can't you kexec a new kernel in place these days with no down time?
I thought we thought in unix time... seconds since epoch...
