Well in the sense of forever...
Forever is only as long as the person who uses the word.
So I'm trying to live forever as well...
    Actually, everyone is :)

I was thinking the same... I have yet to have a crash with my current install of linux (few years old) but if I did ... dmesg would be my closest friend for a few hours. P.S., your signature is awesome.

Forever doesn't mean much to me because I don't plan on living forever--and everything after that I don't really care about :P

So, if my digital media lasts around 80 or so years--awesome...I'll be buried with it... Hey maybe I'll be able to use them wherever it is I'll be going--if anywhere. Think they have fibre for everyone? :D

One example of a company that 'gets it': Google. Their ads are sufficiently innocuous that it's not worth the trouble to block them or get rid of them. Very agreed. GoogleAds are the only type I've put on my website for that very reason. Very suttle and to the point.

Maybe, maybe not ... but it would be a special edition of the Mac Mini. Wireless keyboard/mouse/remote built in, special version of OSX, Gigabit, possibly put the OS on a flash drive since it won't be needed for storage? Ahh.. just wishful thinking.

Or better yet over a gigabit network. Before people think I'm exaggarating, think about it. Have a server for storage with 2 or 3 400GB hdd's, all of your movies and music stored on this. Since the Mac Mini's are very cheap, it wouldn't be too hard get a couple. It will be able to record ... encoded on mac, transferred to file server, done. The mac mini (or any pvr) is too small to accomodate multiple large hard drives. Hmm... Anyone wanna start marketing these with me? heh :)

Actually that's not too bad of an idea.
The Mac Mini would be perfect... They could throw in a beefy 400GB Seagate hard drive... 7200 RPM of course. Maybe 512~1024MB of RAM and it'd be set.

Do people really expect any software company to come up with a fail-proof grammar check? It wont happen--or at least in my lifetime. Why should MS have to compensate for the lack of intelligence of its users? They've obviously done it enough, look at Windows XP. It all comes down to this: Those who understand the English language in all its complexity--be it grammar or spelling--are the ones who should be writing documents. Not morons. You can't idiot-proof everything.

    add this line...
