I dunno about that, but there is no way DSP is as versatile as FGPA. IIRC, FGPAs effectively _physically reconfigure themselves_, so you could, for example, tell it to be a ZX80 one minute, and a 6502 the next, or even both on the same substrate with something else controlling them.
