I did something very similar to that, using a gear on the motor, and using the flat geared blocks from the rack-and-pinion steering of the Technics Car as bullets.
As far as i remember, it could fire across a room pretty well, which was enough to entertain me at the time.
What is this guy on about? Sounds like crazy talk to me.
Better get the medication.

The Linux7k Project is already working on a port to the Series 5. I've had Linux booting on my Psion before, but it's not very usable. They're after help on the Series 5mx if anyone's interested.
InformIT has quite a selection of books in their Free Library. It has a number of books from Que, SAMS, and New Riders, among others. They're all available for online reading.
I think there's a more serious problem they need to overcome before they can build a hotel in space.
Without gravity to hold the end of the toilet roll down, the little folded point the maids carefully create would undo itself. They'll need to develop some sort of tissue origami retaining clip to hold it in place, or find another way to fold the end that will stay put in zero-g. If they have to retrain all the maids for a new folding method, costs could become prohibitative.
Perhaps the toilet roll manufacturers could develop rolls with V shaped perforations so the shape is done for you?
They're too late - i've already got it!
If it gets banned, does that mean we'll have to get mirrors set up to keep copies available over here? Like DeCSS?

I'd recommend Mort, personally. It's where I started, and it's one of the easiest books to get into.
The first couple were slightly different in style from all the later books, so i'd suggest staying clear of these at first.
BBC News also has the story.

Someone did once tell me to get a life, but due to a typo, i got a file instead.
I'm guessing that they've enhanced the X window system, and it's now the XXX window system.
On a more serious note, does the GPL not exclude them from doing this?
For anyone who's not already aware of it...

Colors can be trademarked here in the UK, too.
Heinz has just trademarked the color of their bean tins, and Cadburys has trademarked their shade of purple.

I think the fish slapping dance proves that at one time at least, we did have a fall in the UK.
And a splendid fall it was, too.
