No, wait! DRM is like a beer. It smells good, it looks good, you'd setp over your own mother just to get one! But you can't stop at one. You wanna drink another DRM!
I find that having everything you might need next to you before you start building/reparing a system is the best way to avoid danger. Then ESD is not a problem as long as you periodically keep touching the case, as long as there is no potential difference between you and the case you should be fine. The more you move around the more chance of you building up charge.
It also helps to read manuals and how-tos if you are new to this stuff.
As usual I have caught this story after a million billion replies, so my apologies if this has already been expressed, if not I'm rich!!!
Sure it's a bit slow and print quality may vary, but it's available now and it's cheap! There's also a four-color option, a bit more bulky and slightly more expensive. Three major competing formats (fountain, ball point and roller ball), but all cheap:)
First, so that I'm not off topic, I should tell you my suggestion for a great geek gift. This is what I wanted and already recieved (we exchanged gifts early his year) a Canon Powershot A80. Someone mentioned this already. I must say that for its price and features it seems to be the best deal around. It also uses compact flash, which is cheap as long as you look around. Try ramseeker.com or I found a good deal on Amazon ($40 for 256MB after rebate). Your geek will not be disapointed, unless they wanted something else:)
Ok, now on the point of political correctness and my "stupid, non-genuine, not driven to achive, worthless of respect, not intent on success" ass, who wastes all his time worring about what my ancestors did right or wrong instead of doing my job, pulling my weight, and generally helping the rest of the world succeed. Did I miss anything? Well, ok, I thought graduate studies in Physics was a waste of time, but I didn't realize how correct I was! I'll stop that right now. Oh!!! Right! You were just trying to make a point about how you don't waste your time being politically correct. There I go being my aforementioned ass again wasting my time and yours. Sorry about that dude. No offense taken:) I think (and this is only my opinion) that one should worry about this kind of stuff, at least a little bit. I mean you don't want to be offensive all the time, right?
I was wondering if I should even bother with this comment, but it does need saying. Why would you choose to make your coments gender specific? I mean, many of my geek friends are women - my fiancee for example. I have not read all the 500+ posts on this thread to see if somone might have made the same comment. Anyway, sorry if this was off topic, but I thought it needed to be said.

Why would /. want to get rid of the /. effect?
