    it's still more likely that, assuming the cancer "outbreak" wasn't just bad dice (cancer is at it's nature, random, and random distributed across 6 billion people will lead to some weird and seemingly impossible coincidences.) the cause is more likely to be a local contamination of some sort rather than a cell tower, which there are many of around the world with no similar events.

    wrap the encryped data in some other data, if you get 1/5th speed with encrypted traffic then mix the important encrypted data with 20% data that looks like normal high priority traffic and you will lose 20% instead of 80%. the thing is that thefilter needs to recognize everything at once to be effective, while the tunnel only needs one trick the filter doesn't know or doesn't have the computational ability to check for.

    only to find out that the encrypted tunnel was one of several layers of encryp tion and you need to wait another 700 years to crack it, or the truely useful info was sent xor'd with an OTP and you are hosed

    the threat of competition, and the cost of DPI compared to normal volume throttling will limit deployment of DPI.

    no it's not. if you mail something to a country or from a country the protections inside that other country are only as strong as that countries mailing regulations.

    not only that, but deploying massive amounts of expensive gear to make your service less attractive than others, just as high speed services are getting better coverage and fewer and fewer places are stuck with one provider would be mind bogglingly stupid.

    They're not compatible at the physical layer so you'd never plug one into another. However they use compatible layer 2 formats so it's easy to switch packets from one to another.

    PCI-E 16x can handle it just fine, though the machine might not be able to find enough sources or sinks to actually DO anything with that much data for a while.

    how old was the building, could the installation have disturbed asbestos in the building or wiring it up disturbed asbestos in the basement near the air system

    that usually only happens when an admin or group of admins has a grudge against the subject of or editors working on an article. otherwise even the most inane crap is allowed to stay around forever, including detailed descriptions of hundreds of pokemon, episodes of shows such as mythbusters, etc.

    adjusting odds dynamically is a HUGE offense in every jurisdiction i have ever heard of.

    besides, you WANT the machines to go on a run every once in a while so players see someone with a shitload of money all at once and think they could be the next person to win a shitload of money

    cheap and sloppy is a far better way to go with solar energy collection. if you can lower costs enough to put crappy collector everywhere you can squeeze more light out of the day than an expensive collector will get due to angles and shadows. a good collector on the roof will be weak during morning or evening, and totally useless during the other. a coat of paint on the house and roof will get fairly decent angles all day and would be less likely to have a noticable loss of output if a leaf pod falls on it or a bird squeezes one out onto it.
