    it can. the TDK scratchproof thing is a part of and required by the Betaray spec. however it is compatable with the HDDVD, DVD, and CD specs so it will probably be showing up on premium media all over, especially writable discs.

    Cell isn't going to become a ubiquitous architecture and IBM isn't really going to care that it doesn't. Cell is going to end up in seriously big, seriously expensive corporate iron as well as, most likely, some news broadcaster gear to take Video Toaster type stuff to a whole new level. cell is not general purpose computing and it never will be.

    You can't just buy an add-on device for HDCP, it has to be right inside the monitor, because the data stream must be encrypted right until it reaches the pixels.

    just like you can't buy an addon to play burned PS2 or xbox games?

    if that's what happened, the ISP fucked up and can probably be sued by the blogger, the ISP is supposed to notify you and give you the chance to send a counter-takedown notice stating that the file in question is not in violation of the law.

    if you lie about this, the penalties for infringement are significantly higher IIRC
