Actually the pilots were flying over a training area, saw small arms muzzle flashes (which would have put them in no danger anyway), requested permission to attack, and attacked before recieving such permission. AFAIK, permission was denied right after bomb release, at least that's the story we got on the news here in Canada.
Not saying Mac is unusuable, but computers are general purpose machines, and the more general, the more attractive they are
Hope you're not saying Macs aren't general purpose. I've been running a StarMax (Motorola clone) for 7 years and am finally retiring it this week. Replacing it with a 2 x G5. I've done everything with and it works as well as both Windoze machines I'm running.
No spyware on the Mac but the other machines are always needing maintainence.

seriously tho, what will happen when this all comes to pass? will we who don't want to run that shit have to own a special box just so we can run software and watch movies/listen to music?

actually in the articles it states that the levy on CD-Rs and RWs is 5.2 cents. the levy on CD-R AUDIO is 77 cents (or whatever).
