I heard you have to reverse the direction of the SATA cable to clean that crap out. Same goes for slow broadband - either reverse the Ethernet cable or turn the WiFi router upside down.
You forgot to turn off System Restore as well! System Restore killed my SSD! Once it's dead we can start on the carcass of the DNS Client service. Pretty sure Microsoft is using that to spy on my web habits...
Why don't you diagnose the fault and actually help them, instead of siding on the side of bullshit? If the slow-down is that bad it should be pretty obvious to someone with some technical skill.
That was a one-off bug that slowly accumulated over a very long time for a rather obscure reason. Please provide compelling evidence. Or at least bullshit that looks, from a distance, like something evidence-shaped.
Oh I dunno. You haven't seen the state of some of the servers I've been asked to take over. Let's just say the word "iolo" and "Windows Server" should never been seen in the same screen.
"Disagree"? Parent has provided proof. You can't disagree with what is factually correct.
If you are asking "Can I delete this random directory in my system directory?" then the answer is either: "Here's a page on Technet explaining what it is for. Read this, then do not delete it." or: "If you have to ask, no."
Stop fucking around with things you don't understand and maybe your operating system will stop going slowly or breaking. Did you even look at the logo of sites like www.howtogeek.com? You're actually taking these people seriously, and going about ripping the innards out of Windows on the advice of some whack jobs?
Bingo. If the system is slow, you diagnose it. Once you diagnose it you fix the cause.
Either that or you just wildly accuse the registry, Microsoft or a conspiracy by RAM manufacturers. The Internet told me that registry cleaners and driver boosters work, so they must! Anyone blaming their damn thongs on anything but their washing powder is just...I'm sorry. I just couldn't help myself:-)
You should understand what you are talking about before going off on one, otherwise you just make yourself look silly. The registry is cached in RAM while the system boots. It's tiny. Have you ever even gone to see how big the registry hives are? Are you now telling me that accessing parts of such small files is "the cause" of a Windows system's performance degrading? Do you have any idea how long registry reads and writes take?
Just because bullshit is repeated ad nauseam doesn't make it true.
I can't even remember the last time I witnessed or suffered any prejudice, sexist or otherwise, or harassment in multiplayer games or the community that I partake in. However, when I visit friends' places and get a taste of other sorts of games people play, particularly those which lean towards lots of strangers playing together, it's horrifying. I can assure you this problem exists and is at the scale that is claimed.
Assuming an attacker has no knowledge of the password make-up, according to your policy the password nkeL4(b3 sits in a keyspace of around 6.1 * 10^15 combinations.
Under equal conditions the password refineddisplayparcelsuited sits in a keyspace of around 6.2 * 10^36 combinations. When I get back from my appointment this morning, I will still remember refinddisplayparcelsuited and won't have to write it on a sticky note, or save it on to the Dropbox App on my phone, which has a crappy password I use everywhere, using the file name "Work login password.txt".
But it's special characters! It MUST mean the password is more secure! Wait, you're also saying that using "seventysix" is more secure than "76"? Goodness gracious, man, what is wrong with you? Did you use that "mathematics" thing again?
It's all been about the Cloud for some time now but I'm still old fashioned and prefer to keep my data on my computers and hold myself responsible for ensuring my stuff is actually looked after.
There is no special tax on television sets. There is no bureaucracy to collect any such tax nor an army of any special police. If you wish to watch or record live television as it is broadcast you are legally required to purchase a license. As I do neither, I am not required to, nor do I have, a license.
Yeah, I suppose I'm picky where my bubble extends. If it's a place that doesn't cope with trolls then I leave the discussion or the service for somewhere better. There was a time I participated in the discussions on Gawker's Kotaku gaming blog, but the web site became barely functional and every change they implemented made it more difficult for me to join in. So I stopped. (I also tried their IRC channel, but gave up on that because it was mostly about game piracy, the irony.)
There are trolls on the Internet? What, have people forgotten how to use/ignore? Do they actually join in conversations on Internet services that don't have effective ignore/moderation systems? Well, that's your fault, then.
At least with Service Packs you knew that it was complicated and had a lot of updates to install, and were aware it could hose the machine. I've come to expect Microsoft's monthly updates be trouble-free, because they are almost every single occasion.
I'm taking collections for a Karma Self-Destruction Fund, to support people who accidentally held up logic and sane discussion towards a Microsoft subject, and get themselves mutilated by the prejudicial horde. Care to donate?

"You are welcome on my lawn."
Always wondered about people with fences around their property. Seems unnecessarily antisocial to me.

I don't think that one stood a chance here.

Bane of my life. But still, at least batch isn't 95% "Sniplets". Sniplets - Why Bother Understanding When You Can Copy and Paste?

I know, actually moving my body using my own effort. Absurd. I just can't help but keep pedalling away.

I'm a UK citizen who pays taxes. I do not pay for a television license because I am not required to.
It's also fun reporting a service's moderators for trolling or worse - feeding the trolls. What sport!
