An HTML proxy can protect you by directing all html to the proxy software first, which then filters it with Regular Expressions and fordwards the filter html page to the browser. I use an old program called Proxomitron with sidki's rule set (config file) and it stops flash and then allows you to start each one with a hyperlink style click.

Of course its a Windows only util, but linux doesn't need it.
Some music I like from jamendo:
Drunksouls - On verra plus tard... (my favorate rock)
HYPE - Lies and Speeches
Cold War Kids - Robbers and Cowards
David Bowman - Verfolger
Ferentino by Night - One Night to Ferentino (electronic)
Spoon - GA GA GA GA GA
VS - Vs
Acrobat isn't bloated if you remove the plug-ins you don't use from 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\plug_ins.' I just put a ~ in front of each plug-in filename to turn them off. I only use the eBook, EWH32, ImageViewer, Multimedia, PDDom, reflow Search, Search5 and weblink plug-ins. Acrobat loads up plenty fast on my older Athlon64 2Mhz PC.
What I'd like is two-factor authentification using a USB stick. The best I've seen is pam_usb (http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8338) , but haven't tried it yet. Anyone tried this or anything like it?
but sadly 18% of our Firefox users need to upgrade to the latest version.
In Linux, I use the default firfox 1.5 that comes with ubuntu. But in Windows 1.5 is dogg-ass slow loading up. Really gets me how much faster 1.08 is. I'm not being completely fair in that I'm using a Stipe build for firefox in windows, which is quite the speedster.
I haven't regretted dumping IE after it got hijacked one time too many - JackRazz
I've been using Skype for a couple of months with a mic/headset combo and it has been surprisingly good. One of the benefits of Skype is that you can make conference calls. This is something I've never done at home with a landline.
I had $9 Skype-Out left and don't know how I'm gonna use it up now(-:
