If I know all kinds of things about you I can then engauge in, for example, black ops to eliminate you if you do something I don't like. Slip some cianide into your food while you leave it in your car or the like.

If this is what you are worried about, start hiding NOW!

    A couple of points:

    1. Criminals are stupid. Seriously. Almost by definition, the smart ones are the ones you will never know about because they do not get caught.
    2. if you are not doing anything illegal, then no one can launch a lawsuit against you. I want the cops to catch you if you are doing something wrong. If you beleive that doing X should not be illegal, have it decriminalized.
The system's going to be so swamped it isn't even funny plus what if they decide they'll just abduct people at random without trial and throw them into prison labor camps? If this worries you get a jump on the government and move into an isolated shack right now.

A "slippery slope" argument? 'Cause I cannot really see the problem in anyone knowing in what part of a huge city I was in at a particular time.

I am all for privacy, but lets face it, if you were riding the subway, you were in public anyway.

I people lose their jobs because they are "selling" things in a way people do not want to buy them, its not tragic, its right.

You don't see me bithcing because my shit on a stic service didn't pan out do you?

I beleive that the RIAA's argument is that once you have participated in a P2P network, you are no longer anon. Therefore when the RIAA asks for the name behind a certian IP addy, the IP cannot cry "privacy"!

Plus simply by using a system that allows users to get into your computer you kind of lose the argument that privacy is important to me.
