the article at the parent of this post says it all.
"Once the industry determined a downloaded song file was a copyright work, they issued subpoenas to Internet access providers to find out who was behind the account used to log onto the file-sharing network."
So some kid gets a list of an isps logins and passwords.
He or she then proceeds to download via kazaa.
You (the owner of the account at the isp) get sued for this 'hackers'? actions.
Yay for RIAA being totally clueless.
Im going to patent a software method for read/responding to dtmf;)
imagine no competition with mobile phone software.
one phone has a wap browser, another has an imode browser. and that would be about it if these laws were introduced earlier.
It was an interesting update on the status of prevayler for me.
I use it, and im happy with it.
Sure, my apps that use it dont handle gigs of data, and never will, so prevayler is a niche for applications like mine.
No database at all is required, just prevayler jar and some disk space to persist it for future use.
If you dont want to read about this kind of technology, then please just skip articles your not interested in, I for one AM interested in the evolution of this technology, and id say there are a lot of others that would like to know about such things.

Some companies realize thats its not simply all about the money, especially when they have enough..

Sounds to me like a PC (running XP), Broadband, and a content delivery scheme much akin to Steam.. Whats so revolutionary about this?!.
