When meat is judged by experts to be unfit, the meat inspectors from your local food safety agency will come and take it way, or spray it blue or whatever.
Who is going to do that with IE? Its getting to that point now isn't it?!
How are we going to migrate a whole bundle of non-technical users off IE anyway? Firefox payload super-virus perhaps?
Not sure I'm pursuaded by your comments. Kids are very much more resiliant than we usually give them credit for. They can also seperate fantasy from reality extremely easily.
What about countries like Denmark that have had hard core porn media for sale in supermarkets for years. Yet have very low levels of sex crime. Don't think the rest of the world is as hung up about sex as America, where casino hotels in Vegas have begun to charge male customers for the privilege of sitting alongside women customers who are allowed to sunbathe topless. In Europe that would be considered most bizarre.
What this is about, partly, is American attitudes to sex catching up with the rest of the world. Kids do need protection from porn, sure. But the sky isn't falling.
Mobile/Cellular telephones can have portable telephone numbers because they also have a 'lower level' unique identifier code. So the actual phone number is an abstraction from this and can be moved around with just a little bit of effort.
In contrast an IP address is the lowest level unique identifier for internet services and the other posts about moving postal zip codes are bang on the money.
I'm sure the courts final ruling will make sense. But us techies love to fret about these kinds of things.
Some European countries have laws about workstation ergonomics. They require companies to provide a workstation that can be adjusted for comfort. Screen height is one of the criteria deemed important, so you are sat with a bent neck for long periods.
So if these are the only laptops that can meet European ergonomic regulations my guess is they will sell extremely well. Companies need them to make hotdesking even more affordable yet without breeching regulations.
