The most obvious microsoft cultists I know of is the boys at CAD and if microsoft isnt funding that show i cant imagine who is, every week its a new microsoft toy/game or an upgrade to the xbox inspired robot even the 3 finger salute as its namesake.
Now dont get me wrong the comic is pretty damn funny, but did i miss something, are we supposed to think its not pure microsoft advertising, its about ALL video brands?
Apart from being able to put their name to the product is there any advantage for Microsoft in having their open format as the format?
By definition as an open document format, there cant be any lockin to Microsoft, why are they so heavily pushing their own format (better or worse)?

Now Google may not be the ultimate power yet, but they have some fair sway and this abundant generosity could all be farce to lock us in to their future. GoogleOS and such.

they are only catching up, not moving forward and with vista bringing precious little reason to upgrade they are stagnating
