  1. Yeah, tried this game for year and a half on Sony To Encase Half the Star Wars: Galaxies Servers In Carbonite · · Score: 0

Played this game in 03-04 shortly after launch, but it was very difficult, didn't make a whole lot sense game mechanic wise either. Though it was very graphically beautiful at the time. I typically just enjoyed going around all the planets and getting my own house/speeder. That was about it. Half way through a one year subscription (New years 05), I got WoW. Came back briefly for JTL, never been back since.

Assuming his cabinet and VP aren't in on it. The simplest way to remove him would be for his cabinet to vote to remove him from office. Would take about 2 mins and make Dick Cheny VP. If cheney was in on it, then you have Pelosi call the house into session right there, have someone scribble an article of impeachment onto the back of their program, vote for it. Then Harry Reid calls the Senate into session right there, convenes his trial, Roberts calls the vote, senators vote to impeach. Done.

They finally fixed the broken 640 GB drives which had the stall out/disappear/NCQ errors the 1.5TB's had about a month ago. Thank god. I have not seen such widespread failures across so many products since the Deskstar fiasco.

You obviously don't know much about taxes, generally, in order to receive a credit, you must have paid that much in taxes. A $4000 tax credit wouldn't be maximized by anything less than a 40k a year job.

I don't think that that was a statement representative of America. I think most would call the cops or beat them up.

Actuallly, that statement is the insane statement. Why on earth would you enter hand-to-hand combat with some nutjob eco-terrorist who might suddenly knife or taser you in the middle of the fight?

  11. Re:Mean-spirited? on FSF's "Defective By Design" Targets Apple Genius Bars · · Score: 0

Exactly. It's not even well thought through. It reminds me of a group of eco-warrior types here in Oxford who have been letting down the tyres of people with SUVs. Of course, it just causes people to hate them and the SUV owners end up leaving their engine running for half an hour to reinflate their tyres using electric pumps anyway...

Wow, thats too bad. In the US our eco-terrorists go after car dealerships and the like as vandalizing personal vehicles is dealt with a .357 (9mm for those across the pond) caliber weapon or higher. 48 of our states allow some form of handgun carrying though I believe the UK bans any weapons carry or handgun ownership.

First off, they probably didn't even know if they could recover the data. Second, they would have no way of knowing for sure that NASA would release the information about them providing the data recovery services. Third, they very likely wouldn't have known whether or not the data (if recovered) would be used for anything in the future. Fourth, there are very strict rules about government agencies doing business where they don't pay for services, especially with potentially classified data on the drives. I would bet very strongly that they got well paid for this recovery. Ontrack has it posted on their site: http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/
