All you have to do is disable the Messenger service. Hardly an "internal Windows setting". Right-click My Computer, Manage, then go to services and disable it. Its actually a very straightforward thing to do.:-)

They're obviously runnnig two different operating systems. The interesting point here is not choice of OS, but performance of the hardware.
actually, there has not been a single recount which actually showed Gore as having more votes. They've counted, counted, re-counted, and counted again and they still can't get the answer they want. Its a shame for them, but I think they just have to realize that Bush did win, even though he may have only won by a small margin.

I think everything mentioned would be useful except for the voice activation and audible response. Why is that seen as such a great feature?
bottom line, MS isn't the only one with vulnerabilities in their code and this isn't something the open source community seems aware of at times.
