We will see increased terrorist attacks you mean. Don't you get it, thats why the government wants to spy on each and everyone one of us. A Revolution will be called terrorism, people will spy on each other, the weapons designed to catch Al-Qaeda will be used to catch so called revolotionarys.
There will be no revolution.
American Terrorists are not enemy combatants, we have our rights. The KKK and DC sniper, the Mafia, etc were American terrorists. We already have systems in place to deal with these types of terrorists, the FBA, the CIA, the Swat team, the police.
There is a huge difference between a domestic terrorist, and an international terrorist. Bin Laden's people werent trained here, they don't have family here, they don't work here, etc.
our government is at war with all countries in the middle east involved in 911, including countries which werent involved but have large islamic populations. To sum it all up,
The native americans who run the casinos are not giving the money back to the native american community or reservations, they are just as much of a criminal as don king is to the black community.
I never said put all Arabs, I said put all people coming from those countries within the last 10 or so years. Theres a difference. Racist would be putting all Arabs including the ones born in this country, or who have been here for generations on that list. By the way, I don't think we should just put Arabs on the list, we should put ANYONE coming from those countries, white, black, asian, I don't care what race, anyone coming from the wrong countries within the last 10 years should go on that list. We SHOULD watch those people because they come from the countries we are at war with, DUH.
If you are arab and you've been here for your whole life, you shouldnt go on the list. Racist? no, Nationalist? maybe. If you want to be fair, fine, anyone who is not a US citizen should be put on the watch list.
You act like the Mafia has no competition, this isnt 1931, this is 2004. You have gangs, you have the irish, russian, jewish, spanish mafias, you have the yakuza, the triads, you have business men in the corporate world who are also in the criminal world, and you have gangs which are rich and powerful enough to get this information, the hells angels, the bloods, crips, latin kings, maybe some prison gangs.
Basically anyone with money or influence can get this information. The casinos are run by the mafia, native americans, gang members, etc. Any of the people running these operations would likely sell your information to any other other organized crime group who has the cash.
I'm not too concerned with the criminals having our information, generally they are out to profit and would sell guns to terrorists and drugs to our kids to profit before selling your credit history.
A system like this will not help catch as many terrorists as you'd think. And to catch terrorists you'd think they'd only really need to put people from other countries on this list, but no they have to put every man, woman and child on this list including the people born here, whos fathers were born here and whos fathers father were born here?
Doesnt something seem wrong with that if You or I are on this list and not just suspicious people who just arrived from Canada in the last 10 years?
I understand fighting terrorism, but fighting terrorism has nothing to do with this. This is just outright invasion of privacy to the nth degree. Whats the point of living in America if we are going to throw the constitution into the trash and become a police state like Saddams Iraq once was?
This country is supposed to be the most free, now we let some terrorists rob us of our greatest strength? What are people dying for in Iraq?
no, of course not. This is something which will be used against us.
Its not just an issue of false negatives, its an issue of, if the government wants to they can spy on and harrass anyone for any reason, label anyone a terrorist since they define the term, and tap anyones phone or internet anywhere on anyone for any reason.
As much as I am against terrorism, these technologies are going to be used on us, not terrorists! What are we going to do when our government overlords decide to enslave us? The patriot act, operations tips, now this.
The war on terrorism can be faught without completely giving up our privacy and freedom. What if we don't want to be in some big government database? What if we don't want to be watched all the time, or put on some list? But you know, when you agree to give your government the power to spy on you, you also agree to give your government even more power over you and for so called conservatives this big government stuff is hypocritical.
At least the democrats want to make government big with social programs, this is becoming a facist police state.
Thank you Mr. Bush
Click & Run was invented for people like you, people who are too stupid to install their own applications.
Simply buy the LindowsOS, then you'll be able to go to the software warehouse and simply click and run all your software, this install is easier than Windows, easier than MacOSX, easier than any OS before it. You don't even have to install, you just ClickNRun.
If you cant figure this out, perhaps you should go back to playstation, you arent ready for the land of computers yet son.
These are the languages 90% of programmers already know.
Why should we all move to C# and Java now, just because people say we should? Why should we go from an experienced C or C++ programmer into a newbie all over again as we learn C# or Java?
Now, if we can make a new language with the same exact syntax as C, which is also object oriented, and a lot easier than Java or C++, or even a language as easy as Basic with the portability of Java, like Visual Basic, then yes we'd have the power to do desktop programs faster.
But C#? Java? Those languages are harder than the languages we currently use (more syntax), less bug prone, but harder to grasp and almost no one knows them. Why not use Basic? Everyone knows Basic, why do you think Visual Basic is doing so well?
I'd think, that because everything has been done in C already, its easy to find algorithms, find open code to use for your programs, and the tools for C are mature.
Why use C#?
Give me some reasons, don't say its faster for development, tell me why.
Can I find millions of lines of refrence code to tell me exactly how to write any application I want in C#? Until I can, I wont be using C#. Even Java is more mature than C#!
There are more code examples for C, C is a more well known language, its generally easier to learn (the syntax)
Until they make much better IDEs for linux that compare to visual basic, or some of Microsofts stuff, I don't want all this new syntax. It's going to take even longer to make programs even if the programs have less bugs.
Why can't we invent and use a new language, thats easier to learn (syntax wise) than C++, or Java, which can compete with C#, and which has the ability to be OO or not depending on how its used.
I don't really like the OO style of programming, soe people don't code in that way, and I also think we need a way to quickly code up the GUI, Glade just doesnt come close to comparing to Visual basic and until it does I don't see how Linux will compete!
Linux and especially, needs a better way to quickly code desktop applications. I've tried coding in gnome and couldnt mamange to do it because the environment is complete chaos.
How can Linux revolutionize the IDE so that rapid application development is possible? Why not set up a P2P system into the IDE so people reuse code?
Linux needs some exclusive games, however the code is open, nothing stops Microsoft or any other company from porting the game if its really that good.
There is a difference between proprietary apps, and apps designed to run best on Linux. Of course Linux apps should be designed for Linux, but anyone can port the app if its open source, people port Linux apps to OSX and Windows now.
No one is going to use Linux just to play clones of their favorite games. Millions would play Linux however if Freecraft were better than Starcraft, or Linux games had more features, units, weapons or whatever than the typical game.
Linux will never be successful if it only makes games which already are made on other systems. No one wants another grand theft auto, and if you are going to make a racing game which i think is the worst type of game to make, it should be done better than any other racing game, have more features, and be the most fun.
People are willing to pay $10 a month fees to pay everquest and games like it. The key to success is the online RPG, and the realtime strategy game. This is what makes the most money, this type of game is what is most compatible with the open source model, and these are the type of games which attract the hardest of the hardcore gamers who are willing to do anything to play the game.
I'll make music for a game for free just to get exposure, I know lots of artists who will draw artwork for open source games just to get into the industry. You could easily get free art and free music, you could even get free code. The hardest part would be marketing, making the game fun, fixing bugs that no one wants to fix, finding beta testers, and paying the bills to host the game.
You don't understand, that open source once the code is written, once the artwork is made, or the music is created, many games will be able to reuse code from other games, music can also be reused, or remixed, etc.
You don't need to pay as much when you never have to reinvent the wheel.
You could use code from other projects without paying millions to license code. The graphics engine, the physics, all the difficult stuff would have already been done right by someone else so you'll never have to reinvent the wheel.

Its a war on islamic nations.
Thats a different problem. You don't decide not to secure your borders just because you have a flaw somewhere else in the system.
No need for a firewall if you dont have anti virus software?
Compassion doesnt win war. In fact, emotion doesnt win wars. You'd make a terrible war strategist even if you'd make a good person.
The native americans who run the casinos are not giving the money back to the native american community or reservations, they are just as much of a criminal as don king is to the black community.
If we are having a war on terrorism, why do we accept refugees? Its illogical.
