  1. Thats not the problem, the problem is on BitPass: Micropayment That Seems To Work · · Score: 1

If you have alot of money you already do pay for information, and if you go to IGN.com or the internet its usually because you dont have the money to subscribe to the magazine, buy the expensive books or afford the satelite tv services. Most people using the net are college students and teenagers and in the current economy these groups of people have no jobs. I'm making $8 an hour and you expect me to pay for the internet? Go to hell.

  2. Well most people using the net have no money on BitPass: Micropayment That Seems To Work · · Score: 1

You are talking about teenagers and college students. The teenager or the college student has the most free time yet the least amount of money so they surf the web and use the net all day because they have no job, duh. Now to the few who do have a job, they will most likely only visit just a few sites and these people already use Itunes. Last problem is, we dont have a major problem with paying for content. When the economy was good advertisements paid for content, when the economy picks up ads will pay for most internet content just like it pays for radio, tv, and all other devices. This isnt new, most people do not like to pay for radio or for tv, why would you expect us to pay for the internet? Micropayments will never work, only rich people will support something like this and most young people who are from working class families do not have the money and would be simply priced out if slashdot or ign goes micropayment.

Not very powerful. Ximian would be canned because they dont profit. Suse would be streamlined and focus mostly on big business, this would leave small businesses to Redhat. Redhat would re-open Redhat network and focus on the small business.

  6. Cisco should buy Novell on Novell/SUSE Prime for Aquisition? · · Score: 1

I think of all the companies which could buy Novell Cisco would be the best company to do it, they have the money, the strength to not be influenced by Microsoft, and they are the smartest most profitable company.

  7. What about Oracle or Lucent? on Novell/SUSE Prime for Aquisition? · · Score: 1

Both of these companies are more likely to buy Suse than IBM. IBM has nothing to gain by buying Novell/SUSE, IBM does not make money in that market, IBM is a more upscale enterprise based company and would buy Redhat before buying Novell/SUSE simply because IBM has no use for the Novell part of the picture or the Ximian part. I think Oracle would have the most to gain by buying Suse, I think Lucent is on a roll right now and could buy them too but really there arent many companies who have the money to buy them who actually think its profitable to do so.

Bullshit, you cannot do rapid development with VI. The whole point of visual studio is to interface with OO, also we need tools which automate, and which allow us to quickly bugfix code. I dont know which world you come from but there you can debug code easily with visual studio, you can also create interactive GUIs and reuse code much easier when its GUI based and point and click. When someone can point and click to reuse code they will do it, but when it requires real effort they might now. Also user interface development, as linux becomes more GUI based those console based apps wont cut it.
