Actually, as an avid Linux user, I'm extremely pleased to see commercial entities realizing the market potential of Linux.
I am personally sick of trudging through MPlayer's DVD navigation abilities, and welcome CyberLink's entry into the fray. (Even if the software isn't open source, is IS native to Linux, which is a first step.)
PowerDVD has been my favorite software MPEG2 decoder for windows for quite a while, and I can only wonder what the power of Linux will do for the same technology.
pictures of scantily clad women, both virtual and real, kept popping up.
I noticed exactly the same thing.
I used to be a subscriber to EGM, but I eventually dropped the subscription because I felt it was taking unfair advantage of the ease with which my hormones are manipulated by random people. It seemed they were beginning to shove out the real gaming-related stuff in favor of more "lowest common denominator" stuff - such as images of the female form in various stages of undress, and I just decided I wasn't getting what I was paying for anymore, so I quit paying.;)
I store my computer equipment in tupperware and etc., but I always store bare electronics, such as PCI cards or chips, in anti-static bags within the tupperware, which should protect them sufficiently.
This programmable calculator is the oldest piece of hardware that I use. On a recent visit to the Smithsonian, I noticed a very similar model to this one behind glass; the only noticible difference between the two was that mine is LCD and the one on display was LED. (My dad still has one that is LED, we just never use it.)
Yeah, but my experience was that mplayer was the most efficient. (Most other players can't play skip-free on some of my lower-end machines.)
