I for one am sick and tired of the Government taking control of my life and removing my freedoms one by one because they somehow seem to think they "know what's best" for me.
Speaking of loss of freedom.
There's a poll on foxnews.com about the ban on ephedra products in this country now because 100 people have died from use of it. The poll asks if people are in support of the ban because if it saves one life, it's worth it. Surprisingly people who agree with the ban on ephedra hold approximately 80% of the vote. And what those idiots are saying is, they're willing to give up their freedom to put ephedra in their body just so that careless individuals that are too ignorant to look out for themselves (and in my opinion should not breed because of that fact) will be safe.
It chills me to the bone and makes me feel less proud to be an american by the minute.
I live in a nation controlled by the ignorant majority. The only way to reverse this problem is for all the intellects to start reproducing like the ghetto dwellers did during the crack baby boom of the 80's-90's. Use of illicit drugs not recommended.
Someone help! It's getting crazy around here!
But then again, I don't think they're too terribly concerned about it. They're the U.S. Government. If they have a problem with someone breaking into their system, they'll either bomb the heck out of that country, or send a bunch of Feds in to arrest/confiscate/execute said hacker and related equipment.
So I don't know if it's really that big of a deal when you really think about it. We squash those that choose to meddle in our affairs.:) Gotta love this country!
It's about damn time. I swear. Maybe we should spam the hell out of George W's email account and watch how fast I get thrown in jail for suggesting it, and how fast the spam companies get shut down. Better yet, why don't we just block all inbound email from foreign countries? Wouldn't that solve everything? What happened to homeland security?
You know? It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that CNN would put a bogus story like that up there. I'm a musician, and I'd KILL for the world to want a free copy of my songs. Just so I could go get paid to do concerts. I don't care about selling cd's. I just want to be heard. AND I don't have a clue what I'd do with 10 million dollars, let alone 40 million dollars. Actually I do.. I'd put all 10 million in the bank, earning 3% interest and live on the $300,000 a year. That however, is another story.
Cnn used to be free... and now you have to buy a pass for the streaming video? hell.. I'll stick with fox news instead.
IMHO - Most of the critics who've reviewed the movie are not considering the fact that what we have with Matrix revolutions is an interesting Philosophical journey, that kind of blends religion with computing and viruses, and humanity. I for one, thought the last installment was awesome. Anyone who writes a bad review for this movie obviously either didn't understand or pay attention to the first two. Especially the second installment because understanding what happened there was absolutely key to understanding the final movie. Movies are all about telling a story. And to criticize it for it's action sequences, or poor acting, is nonsense. I for one have not found myself in agreement with nearly any movie reviewer for quite some time. I'm to the point where I think it's probably better to go see the movies that the critics said were no good simply because they're normally so far off that I wonder if they actually watched the movie, or were too stoned to really pay attention.
In any case, if I had 4 thumbs, they'd all be up. Great movie, Fantastic Ending, Great visual sequences, Powerful storytelling. I'm going to own all three dvd's when they come out. Go see it and form your own conclusion, and for once, don't listen to the media who are obviously more interested in their wallet than giving fair balanced reviews of what's out there. These half handed, age biased reviews are evidence of that.
First of all, the idiot didn't even take the time to make sure the drives were evenly paired. He tested an IDE drive with 2 megs of cache against a SCSI drive with 4 megs of onboard cache. I own an IDE drive with 8 Megs of cache on it and it absolutely screams. I do realtime audio editing and capturing with it with the onboard controller and am completely satisfied with the performance I get out of it. As we all know, if we're talking about drive access times, those access times and read times are a function of the hard drive and the controller, irregardless of the processor speed.
I'm not saying that scsi isn't faster, because the times the author of the article reported are correct, and scsi is indeed faster. What I am saying is that had he been more fair in his selection of testing components and ensured that they were nearly identical where cache and access times were concerned he'd have found that the difference between the two technologies would have been greatly reduced, and therefore his testing method, while still proving there is a difference, was flawed in that it gave an unfair advandage to the SCSI technology via the 2 meg cache difference, and still more unfair during testing with a 6 meg cache difference on the "new" SCSI drive.
I think he made some very valid points. However, I also think that regardless of how valid his points are, his conclusion was flawed, thereby resulting in the idea that he probably shouldn't have written that article in the first place, and instead ended up exposing himself as a complete idiot.
That's exactly what I was thinking. People are inherently lazy.. and because of it they will always choose what is easiest to do what they want. Create something that forces the average user to take multiple steps to achieve the same goal that something else allows in one step and that user will ultimately choose the easiest and fastest route. IE Windows. I like Linux and think it's going to be a contender soon, but only because the gui's are becoming more all inclusive and easier to navigate.. almost like windows. Once all the functionality of the console has been given a gui interface, I'm sure companies will start to adopt Linux as the main OS mostly because it's free, but there's still a long road ahead.
Btw.. this is my band
