maybe i'm completely off, but cmu uses dhcp, yet i have to give them my mac address first. that way when i ask for an ip cmu knows which ip to give me.
this has been in place since i have been connecting to cmu with an ethernet card. (4 years?)
it's contra!!! as a matter of fact, a few weeks ago i go the nintendo emu for contra and broke the flood gate for some really old memories. I recommend anyone who played contra to give it a try....
now, to this new playstation...i'll beleive it when i see it...
i support some users at a pretty big hospital and i can agree, linux isn't read for the average Joe, but the average joe can't use windows either. Most of the time, we don't even try to support these users over the phone. I'd appreciate a remote administration (sms sucks most of the time) and a legit company isn't gonna use bo2k (maybe, someday) or pcAnywhere from some type of helpdesk....
I just got three p120's with an unknown amount of ram and harddisk space, but it will probably be at least 8megs and a gig... Other than learning a new technology, i don't have a real use for a parallel processing machine, i just do basic php -> mysql stuff with small dbs... however, it sounds like a really cool thing to set up, and i want to learn. Alot of these sites talk about beowulf alot, but don't give an explanation on how to set one up! Either i'm looking at the wrong sites or i just don't kow how to do it.. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some tips on doing this? And responces like *just give me those three pcs* are appreciated but will be ignored:)
On a flight back from chicago i bought some cheezy tom clancy book that involved some cyber nation... i don't remember too much about it, but i swear it sounds exactly like this one... kinda freaky..
Anyone else read that book... i think they made it into a movie too. gawd it was bad.
