the government derives its power from the people in the way you get energy from gasoline. people are just fuel for the rich and powerful and thats how its always going to be. this idealistic ranting that goes on among young people is a waste of energy. just accept that this is the way things are always going to be and the best way to deal with it is use it to your advantage (make money off it).
why is it that trolls always have two names, like anne marie or dan hayes(or patrick mcrotch)? and just so its on topic geeks have to eat so this isn't bad.
in the case of a 'merger' (buyout) the buying company is purchasing the company--union contracts not included. thus a union wouldn't have protected any turbolinux employees, unless it somehow gave them the power to prevent the merger.
ive got a friend who started off drinking a lot, went to i think dxm first, than a lot of acid and mushrooms, then coke. never smoked the tiniest bit of pot through all of it.
legal abortions can help people. heroin doesn't hurt people that much more than cigarettes and booze do, statistically. if heroin was illegal but opium was legal it would hurt much less people.
depends on how you define non techies. my dad works on the business side of a company that does supply chain software and might bother checking. my mom, probably more of a typical user, wouldn't know what to do. hell she doesnt even use ie in the typical sense, she uses the '@home browser' thing.
this is the naive thinking that gets us shit like like the dmca. just because it *used* to be that way, doesn't mean in the 'new digital age' that the claims have to be false. it all comes down to who has the most money and influence.
theres no evidence that reefer causes loss of long term memory. short term yes. and also this article is stupid. this is a causal fallcy. people who who use pdas are more likely to have bad memories. people with good memories don't need them.
never hear of the mongols? also the ottoman empire. both were larger than rome sizewise. at the time, most of europe was considered too primitive to bother with. the rest of it was conquered
michael? hmm that must have been a jon katz article, surely by now he has a patent on the 'end of as we know it, new digital age' article.

it doesn't change the fact that you're a troll.
if the question were "CowboyNeal?" what would the answer be?

if you could fab hardware like this, manufacturers would do it. you can't, and never will be able to.

of course there's also no evidence that shows marijuana is a gateway drug

i agree. on my campus 1/4 of the zip drives were bad, and disks routinely failed. they are incredibly unreliable.
they are a software company. microsoft could potentially expand into their market (it's not a stretch at all)
