Ah, but don't they end up selling proportionately more tickets as the jackpot increases? If multiple people hit the jackpot, you have to split it. Do you have any references to expected payout calculations of recent large jackpots? I tried to find some a while ago, but failed.
If I was going by the pronounciation of "solar" I'd end up saying "so-luhr-iss". Anyways, check out the various videos at Sun's website. Here's one: http://www.sun.com/aboutsun/media/features/nc04q1. html McNealy says "So-lare-iss"... and he's the man... soo.... yeah.
Cell phone towers actually do a lot of processing, from managing handoff and tracking phones across sectors to channel assignment and power regulation. I think they could pretty easily track spurious white noise if they wanted to. I don't have google links, but you could try a copy of "Wireless Communications" by Rappaport.
Apple announces price drops twice a year at MacWorld. Not every product gets a reduction every MacWorld, but it happens fairly regularly. For instance, announcements about higher capacity iPods often preceed announcements about the old ones being cheaper.
It's not like stealing, because they only took a fraction of a megabyte at a time. Only when they're all added up in your Swiss bank account does it amount to the full source code. It's like the take a penny, leave a penny jar.
I don't know if PIT is going to have a bandwith saturation problem. SFO it ain't... I've spent many an hour at the gate and rarely see people with a laptop in hand.

I'm not saying that this analogy is air-tight, but consider the commiditization of electricity. How many people have adequate surge protection for all their electronics (slashdot notwithstanding)? How many kitchen faucets spew water that tastes like crap? I could go on and on...
When you get modded down you lose your karma bonus... or something like that. It's in the FAQ.

Dude, he flew a Stealth Bomber in Broken Arrow. And I'm sure they kicked him out after stealing the nukes. Hence, ex-military.
Because the sonic boom is heard whenever you are exceeding the speed of sound, not just the moment you exceed it.
Apparently pants are a requisite part of office attire.

Haven't you ever opened your CD tray from your audio program?

I think this could be accomplished with dlls. And who said anything about "work" anyways?

Yes, the article states that they will stop selling "traditional film cameras"
That's a great idea. But what happens when your evil clone uses the gun to kill people?. Someone should make a movie.
Please, think of the children!
you pay for shareware? I use it educationamally.
I'm more sad that most of the music the world has made is either unrecorded or unpreserved.
