mpeg-2 encoding is not threaded with ffmpeg, so option 3 is the best you will do in this case anyway. h264 encoding would of course benefit from strategy 2.
I read comments about how great Oakleys are, and how its worth it for the quality, with some amusement. I bought a pair some years ago, mainly for the coolness factor:P , and they broke after 3 weeks with normal reasonably careful use.
Great, they have a lifetime guarantee ! 4 weeks later the replacement arrived and these also broke in 3 weeks. This was repeated once more before I gave up and bought a cheap pair of knock offs for $10.00, popped the lenses and put the oakley lenses in them. They lasted me 3 years ! ( until I lost them ).
When I had complained to the Oakley rep that the design was somehow faulty, I was more or less told to take a hike. I will never waste money on designer sunglasses again, especially if they are Oakleys.
