I was orignally introduced to the terms collectivistic and individualistic while takiing psychology 101 as a telecourse this summer. Since you understood my comment about collectivistic cultures I will do my best to explain individualistic cultures. Individualistic cultures are cultures in which the needs of the individual are placed before the those of the society. I completely agree with you, and I am in the same situation, but with what I believe to be a different outlook on the situaiton. I feel that both the individual and the society take presedence over the other at different times in different situations. I know I am standing on both sides of the line, I am okay with it. I am not motivated to go either way. I feel, in a sense that you are motivated to choose one side over another. Why? I have no Idea. I could guess, but I am afraid of being wrong in both my hypothesis on standing and both your motivation. Plus it would require me to open a completely new can of philospohical can of worms. Thank you for listening to me blather.

I like your philosphy on driving it is very nice. Apparently you miss interpreted what I meant by collectivistic. Collectivistic is defined as a culture which places the safety\sucessfulness of the group as a whole infront of that of individual. It does not mean for evryone to be the same. That is just silly. I love individualism, it is what makes life beautiful, it is what makes life worth living. I completely agree with you on that point. Oppositly a individualistic culture is one which the individual is more important than the group. I just think Americans need to stop being so selfish. --Have a good day

I got wi-fi. I got 802.11g, I waiting for i. I live in the a densely packed suburb, with several friends who go to my school who love to war-drve. Tehy have contests. It is actually quite funny. I am helping them map out active connections. They know I have wi-fi. They try like hell to get into my net, but I have an openBSD box running a radius server. I don't have all that much to worry about. They have been trying since august and still haven't gotten in. These aren't script kiddies, these are the kids who got 5's on the AP comp test. Did I mention that we all studied independently for it, no teacher.

The thing that makes America great, the hting that makes America America is its citizens liberty. But it is this liberty that threatens the very safety of its citizens. It is this same liberty that allows the DMCA to make felt tip markers illegal becuase they circumvent a copyright-protection scheme, while ironically allowing NAMBLA to produce all of its pedophilia assorted information. Americans need to stop being so individualistic and start being more collectiveistic. It is people who are selfish enough to risk the lives of others in pursuit of getting home 20 seconds faster that ruin America. But it is these people who make America. Would I, an American born citizen have it any other way. No. I love my country. I just think that people need to get things back in perspective.

This was me in a weird moment. That would be ideal wouldn't it. Windows needs to be replaced with a complatible nix brotheren. It is the only way to get the masses to convert. Hey if I had the money, I would pay those nix coders to do it myself. I know I might sound crazy, maybe I am, I guess I am just an optimist. Admit it though, if it could be done, wouldn't that be great.

I want to see some one decopile all of the windows XP source code. I want to see them figure out exactly how windows work, and exactly why it doesn't work. Preferably these people would be linux\unix\*nix coders, for these people I feel are the best group of coders in the world. After reverse-engineering the kernel, and its semantics, write a new one. Write several, write a micro, and a macro kernel. Write a non-existent kernel. Make it compatible with old windows code, but in a elegant and efficent form. Once you have done this, relase it for free. Realse it for a small fee. What them flock towards you. Insetad of fighting them on the outside, why not kill microsoft from the inside, replace their product with a better, faster, more fficent, sexier one. If I could only motivate people to do this.

I understand I get the movie now. Let me say this, anyone who truly undertands the movie, will like it. They will most likely love it. let me say this. No one can make you understand the matrix, no one should tell you how to understand the matrix. You have to do it by yourself. It is the journey to understanding the movies that makes all worth-while. Plus after completing your journey you now love the movies, because you see their enriching plots, their ability to answer so many questions, and their ability to make you pose so many more. It helps every human complete the holes in their belief system that it makes you want more. After seeing the movies and now that I understand them, I realize their purpose and my purpose in wathcing them. I have taken so much away from these movies that I feel that I can live with out fear. I would tell you how I understand it, but that would prevent you from completeing your journey as well. If you really want me to explain to you how I undertsand it, e-mail me, and I will gladly explain to you my undertsanding of the movie.
