Everyone, start voting libertarian before we don't have any rights left.
Are you kidding? We don't really have any rights left today. Most people don't realize this, but we've become the country we've grown to despise. Our rights have been gone for quite some time now. --
Complaining just because you don't have a few more bucks in your pocket is whining. You lost out because you were too lazy to study up, plain and simple. You are the same type of people who sue others because you are unable to accept blame for your own stupidity.
Hey guy, relax. I didn't get in on the IPO that I was hoping to get in on because of a lottery at E*Trade. It wasn't for any of the reasons you mentioned.
I planned ahead and set my offer price at $14 from the very start of things. I called in today to give another offer and did so successfully. At that point, I had done everything possible to get in, but it was no good. I got an email shortly thereafter stating that I had not been allocated shares due to high demand. There are a lot of us who got that same letter. --
My first guess is they screwed up the directed-shares bit.
While I see it as very likely that they screwed up, I'm thinking that the directed shares went to the lottery process because of high demand. The documentation on the site stated that this might happen, but I guess we can never really know with such terse alerts coming from E*Trade. --
Well, it doesn't really matter how much E*Trade screwed up because they ended up using the lottery process anyway due to such high demand for the stock. I was legitimately "in" but didn't get any shares because my name wasn't drawn out of E*Trade's hat. Oh well, such is the market.
RE: Public Offering Order RHAT. We were unable to allocate shares. Possible reasons: Offering priced above limit or high demand for shares.
This really sucks! I finally made it through their phone system late this morning and reconfirmed my order. They said it was ok. I thought I was in, but I guess I was wrong. Well, are there ANY success stories here today? --
another technology that will go to waste if the big corporations can't make enough money on it. If Intel isn't getting kickbacks from the sales of this stuff, we'll never see it hit the market! --
I don't know much about Python, but I do know that it will run on any OS that I ever need to use. I do, however, know that Donald Becker has done some amazing work for Linux with his collection of Ethernet drivers. Just imagine where we'd be today without the work of these Open Source pioneers! --

Personally, I disagree. This is not the sort of thing that the US government should do. The internet doesn't end at the US borders. The internet is global. I believe that the world would be best served by allowing any organization to perform these services. --

Personally, I don't think college is something that I need. I'm currently running two businesses and doing quite well for myself. I'm not saying that geeks don't need college, though. I know very few people who could just take an idea and turn it into profit. I think that for most, college is a must. --
I would love to put up a database of RFCs, but I just don't know where to find them all... Could somebody help me out with that? I'll post a link to the database as soon as it's completed. --
I noticed this new service a couple of months ago, and I was not impressed. This is the exact opposite of what this company should be doing. I think most will agree that it's bad enough for NSI to have a monopoly on domain registrations, and now they're abusing it by trying to put WSPs out of business with this new service. I can't wait till they are gone! --
I like Linux and am a dedicated Linux user, but I really don't think that these statistics are useful in any way. So Linux accounted for 14% of the OS sales growth. Big deal! That's only the growth. It has nothing to do with total sales. And besides that, Linux is free! You can't show sales figures for free software!
OK, $1 isn't much, but that's not the point. Nobody wants to pay royalties to Apple just to have a FireWire port on their machine. We're just going to have to find a different way of getting the same transfer rates to/from our camcorders and such. There's no way I'm going to pay any money to Apple unless I decide to buy a Mac. Apple has once again lost its mind.

Have you seen our highways lately? Cameras everywhere. Also, microphones are being installed here in Austin, TX, soon.

I, too, am rather frustrated by all of this

Use the mkinitrd command. For help with its syntax, try man mkinitrd. Enjoy!

How many times do we have to get this same story? I'm wondering how much empeg is paying Rob.
