Amazing that with all the brilliant minds at NASA, and working on the HST, that here on/. we have the most brilliant man in the world, who by reading a single paragraph is able to announce that all those other guys are wrong. Sorry, but I think I'll believe the guys at NASA for now. (Unless you are Steven Hawking)
Grab userid/password from all 18,000 students, then send emails from ALL of them to the Dean, and head of IT demanding that security holes be fixed. Then, use those email accounts to SPAM the administration until security is fixed. Problem solved, and I'm sure the other students will be fine with you using their accounts for such a noble endeavour.
I would still argue mental problems. Some of it is his political stands. I listened to him, for humor, lesbians, fart jokes, lesbians, funny news, lesbians, Johns interviews, lesbians, and some lesbians. I don't want to hear him do a political show, he doesn't know enough to make intelligent arguments, and comes off as a hate-filled winer. I really think he used to be funny, I was one of his biggest fans, as I said, I listened for 20 years, bought his books, and his special videos. I just don't find him funny any longer. I'm not saying he shouldn't be on the air, or that you shouldn't listen. I'm just not listening any longer.
And please go back and read the parent posts, there was talk of the first amendment. I was simply stating that the First Amendment does not apply to non-govenrment organizations. Period. There can be NO argument on that, it's black and white. I understand the difference between legality and morality, and I think the FCC has probably overstepped its bounds. I think the courts should be given this case and have it argues there once and for all, but I can't take them to court, they didn't fine me, Clear Channel must step up to the plate and do the right thing.
BTW, the fact that you even came up with the analogy, of pissing in a cunt, really frightens me.:) Take care, believe it or not, it seems we agree on this matter.
It actually seems that we agree on this issue. As I said (if you were able to read you ass-clown) I'm not sure that the FCC is censoring via fines, but it is a possibility, and a valid concern. I would still suggest you try taking a remedial reading course, and sitting down with a copy of the Constitution before you argue like a vapid retarded simian. Have a pleasant day.
See, the last half of your post made perfect sense, while the first half made none. I state the text of the Constitution, and you call it a red herring, and say that I am uninformed or obtuse. Clear Channel is completely UNBOUND by the First Amendment. PERIOD!!!! I will state again... Clear Channel is completely UNBOUND by the First Amendment.
"...Congress shall pass no law abridging the right of free speech..." Nowhere does it say ANYTHING about individuals, or corporations.
The FCC is implicitly bound by it though. I may not agree completely that they are censoring through fines, but it is a valid point, and a possibility. I am not ignoring these points, and stated them in my prior post. You my friend may want to consider reading things before commenting on them...things such as my posts, and the constitution. You seem to be an intelligent sort of fellow (I am assuming fellow, if I'm wrong I apologize), but commenting with ignorance on things you obviously haven't read give you the appearance of a lackwit. For your own sake, please start to read before reaching for the keyboard.
Have a pleasant rest of the day!!:)
I wouldn't say that I know any more about Stern/Clear Channel than anyone else. I don't think I claimed to either. If you're referring to the recent fine, I didn't mention it, because it deals with a seperate issue entirely, and that's indecency. As I said, I listened to him for the better part of 20 years, I've been amused, shocked, sickened, enlightened, apalled, turned-on, and entertained by him. I don't think I ever heard him being indecent. There were things I wouldn't like my kids hearing, but I didn't have him on when the kids were around. I think the FCC fine is BS, and Clear Channel should fight it. If they choose NOT to fight it, that is their prerogative, don't blame the FCC, if Clear Channel won't stand up for themselves.
If you take issue with something I've said, that's fine, but state what it is. Your sarcastic comment doesn't speak well of you, and attempts to make me look like an ass. If you have a different opinion, lay it out.
I agree. The first station he was on outside of NY was Philadelphia. I listened from his first day here. Lately he just sucks though. I haven't listened for 2 months and never will again. He has mental problems, and thinks everyone is out to get him. He really thinks President Bush and the Gov't have nothing better to do than get him off the air.
Clear Channel is a publicly traded company, and is NOT bound by the 1st Amendment. People who scream about the 1st Amendment, should take a few minutes and actually read it sometime, it only applies to the Government.
I amazes me that seemingly "intelligent" people on here don't actually read the posts before they comment or reply. Everyone that responded to my initial post either didn't read my post, or was incapable of understanding it. There are MANY reasons for not using Share Point, I was saying that one of those reasons against using it should NOT be simply because it's Microsoft. All the arguments people have posted could be legitimate depending on this persons particular situation, but that wasn't my point. He seemed to want to avoid the product simply because of the vendor, I still contend that that is doing his employer an injustice. Please don't post a reply listing another reason against Share Point, I know there are legit ones.
These are all valid points, I don't necessarily agree with them all, but they are valid. My point wasn't "go with Share Point or else", it was "Don't avoid looking at Share Point merely because it is Microsoft". There are advantages and disadvantages to every product, I was only encouraging him to do his employers the justice of investigating ALL solutions.
Why not go with Share Point? I'm not the world's biggest M$ fan, but this product works fairly well. It integrates well with all your requirements, has pretty wide spread industry use, and uses formats that people use and are familiar with. I understand people wanting to go with open software, but just blindly saying "no" to something simply because it's Microsoft isn't necessarily fair to your employer or clients. I think one of the things MS has done well, is it's Office Suite. If you find a better product that is open source, go ahead and use it, but don't discount a product, "just because" it's Microsoft. Hey, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so even Microsoft can occassionally do something right. I know this isn't the popular view here on/. but your employer does deserves you looking at all options.
According to this logic, if you leave your front door unlocked, and I walk in and take your stuff, it's OK, because you allowed me access to it. True, they should have locked down their system a bit better, but he was clearly in the wrong with his actions. I don't think this qualifies as insider information, but more appropriately called company proprietary, or company confidential information. Sure, by sitting at the gates counting people, you can get the info, but taking it from internal company web sites makes it a hell of a lot easier and more accurate.
Just my $.02
Sorry, some of us have jobs, and need to devote time to them. Anyhow, here are just a few "diverse" sources, and independent sources, unlike your "fair.org" Left leaning liberal blather. That is hardly independent, or fair. Look, by this point if you don't see the link, as 70% of Americans do (by Time Magaizines numbers) then you just don't want to see the truth. I'm done discussing this with close minded leftists. Please don't ask me to comment any further on this, it's taken up too much of my valuable time anyway.

You are correct, it was Czech. As I said, I need to get some time to dig up the docs to post. As far as the status of the Iraqi, I have heard him referred to as both a top dog in the ISS, and as an intel officer under diplomatic cover. And actually the Czechs are holding firm in their assertion, certain western intel agencies are disputing it. I can't argue the specifics right now, because I don't have the docs in front of me, but I will post them asa soon as I can get freed up enough to do so. Thanks for your correction on the country, I actually almost posted it as Hungary before I changed it to Bulgaria.
As soon as I get freed up from work enough to dig them up and paste them in, I will. I expect you will see the light then, and renounce your nonsensical, partisan, liberal, anti-american, hateful, mean-spirited, spiteful, traitorous, evil views.:) Just kidding, but I will post the numbers when I get a half hour or so free.
I challenge you to back up any of your statements with facts. There are very FEW Iraqis that are causing issues. There are more schools, hospitals, electricity, oil production, sewage treatment, etc, than there were before we ousted Saddam.
There most certainly was a link. If you don't acknowledge it, it is becasue you don't want to see it. There was a training camp just to the west of Baghdad, that was used by Al-Qaida, they even had a fuselage (minus wings) of a 707, that they used for training to hijack aircraft. We have found numerous documents confirming the link, and Bulgarian intel has proof of meetings between Mohammed Atta, the ringleader of the 19 hijackers, and one of the heads of Iraqi Intelligence.
These are FACTS, they cannot be argued. You can disagree, but that will be for reasons all your own, and because you follow an agenda. People like you who refuse to see the truth in front of them truly sicken me.
First off, America's First responsibility is, and should be, keeping American's safe. Just like Canda's should be keeping Canadians safe, and Belgiums, should be keeping Belgians safe, or Icelands, should be keeping Icelanders safe. This is the main mission and purpose of ANY country. Don't look with hatred and disdain on us, and then complain that we're not doing more for you. (rant over)
Let's look at history for a second, shall we? Most new inventions start off being invented or used in war. After war is over they almost always find some "civilian" or commercial application, such as the ones you described. With all the bad-mouthing of US war fighting capability, it is commonly overlooked, that due in large part to the Cold war, there has not been a World War since 1945. We are not by any means perfect, but we are also not warmongers. Whether one believes we should have gone into Iraq or not, one cannot argue the fact that the people there are better off now, than they were under Saddam's regime. We are not there as a conquering force, but as liberators. Now, don't get me wrong, we didn't go there just to set the people free, there was a link between Saddam's regime, and Al-Qaida, and that was our MAIN reason for going, but the liberation of 25 million people is a pretty good fringe benefit.
In an ideal world, we wouldn't need to arm ourselves to the teeth, but this is not an ideal world. If someone needs to be the super power on this planet, I'm glad it's us. We don't abuse our power, and while we may make some mistakes, we try and do good around the world.
So, in response to your post, give it some time, I truly beleive you will see some of this technology used for some of the applications you mentioned. Fact is, farmers and disaster agencies don't have the budget to develop this stuff, but the military does. Just give them some time. The helicopter was originally a military only vehicle, now, most hospitals have some, and they have saved countless lives from floods, fires, earthquakes, and other disasters. Many miltary planes (C-130's for example) have been retrofitted to drop water or chemicals on fires. These are just a few examples, there are countless others.
Again, just give it time, it will happen, have faith.
Stop meeting guys in rest stops and having them invade you rectally. Should clear up your ass problems in no time. Do you have any other problems I can help with??
Hey ass clown, read my post! Last I checked Canada was NOT in Europe. I did not mention Canada, I was talking about Europe, as in over the ocean...in Europe. If you get your head out of your ass long enough to look at a map, maybe you'll see what I mean. I'll be passing that nice steam cup of STFU your way.
Amen!! Alleluah!! Finally someone said it. If Europe (with the possible exception of the UK) would stop bitching about us for a minute and look at their own stats, they'd see:
Our bad 5.6% unemployment is nothing compared to their 10-11%
Our deficit, when measured as a percentage of our GDP, is small when compared to theirs, as a percentage of their GDP.
Europe on it's best day, can only aspire to be as bad as us on our worst day. There is simply NO comparison. And if you disagree with me on this, stated simply...YOU ARE WRONG!!! Look at the facts, digest them, and shut up!
Instead of making them EAT SPAM, how about one can of SPAM is anally inserted for every violation. If they don't stop, we could at least tell who they are in public from the funny way they would walk.
