  1. NASA's success...? on Next Goals For The ESA · · Score: 0, Flamebait

"ESA hasn't had much sucess lately "...
Hmmm, does loosing 2 space shuttles + crew count as a "Success" ?
NASA got where it is today by being bankrolled by the US gov for military aims. Bush's push for the Moon/Mars are veiled methods for pumping money into space for military purposes.

  2. Pointless unless we have a space infrastructure on USA To Return To Moon By 2015, Then Mars · · Score: 1

Going to the Moon and Mars are pointless excercises unless we have an adequate space infrastructure.

ie a safe, cheap, reusable surface to orbit vehicle to service the international space station.

There is absolutely no point going there and then, after knocking a few golf balls around, coming back! We can now make robots that can do that stuff.

  3. Re:I want private RFIDs for my stuff on Lessons Learned from RFID Field Test · · Score: 1

The RFIDs do not give any location information, so the RFID sensor just knows that somewhere in it's detection sphere there is a perticular RFID. You could make a RFID detector like a metal detector. Hey, when all notes are RFID'd then I could scan beaches with my RFID-detector (patent now pending) and make fo fortune! In 1000 years time archaeologists are going to use them to hunt down these things.

  4. Trunk shutdown on Tanker Truck Shut Down Via Satellite · · Score: 1

The remote truck shutdown is largely pointless, as as blocking the radio will render the truck protected. Thus a terrorist can drive it without fear of the satellite.

Homeland security will eventually be providing all US citizens with "protective" cells to live in throughout our lives. These could be organised into a community structure we could call "prison".

This is the ultimate in a safe and secure homeland. No crime, no rape, no murders, no terrorists. Bliss!!

Maybe the same money and effort should go into aleviating the problems in those areas of the world that produce terrorists.
