Back in the days of OS/2. Each time you reinstall or make basic configuration change to your windows installation it would remove all DualBoot manager. But if the boot Manager was from windows NT or other MS product, windows 98 would not remove it. Remove only NON-MS boot Manager.

  4. Buying Hardware on What is the Worst Tech Mistake You Ever Made? · · Score: 1

One of my worst history about technologies was: I needed a multiplexing board to have 8 Serial Comport on a computer (Os/2 at the time) I bought a DigiBoard PC/8e (I still have) for 700$ a piece. Just to realise that there was something else available for 150$ that could have done the same. Now before buying hardware equipement i ask everybody if there is something else that can do the same thing.

  5. Question to ask.. on Online Backup vs. Tape Backup? · · Score: 3, Insightful

There are a couple of concern you should ask the vendors,
    - How much data can the offsite carry?
    - Any type of compression
    - What about encryption?
    - What if you need your backup, how much time will it take the vendor to bring you a copy of your data on a CD or DVD ?
    - Does the compagny have a secure storage ?

You can also try "easeBackup" Easy to use, support Encryption and Compression.. I am using it..

  7. Re:15 vs 19 on Linux Users More Likely To Pay For Games? · · Score: 3, Insightful

I do not think that because "only" 20% of the people were willing to pay mean the product is not good. Look at how much people download music "for free".. Or what are the statistic on such trial software like WinZip, or ZonAlarm. How many people actualy pay for thoses software? On computer around the office i can found around 5 to 20 downloaded software that people don't pay for.. And many of thoses are very good. People are just cheap, or people are not "yet" ready to pay for product only available on the Internet. Are people ready to pay for Internet Games?. 20$ per month?..
