This tax would definitely mean you don't have to declare out-of-state sales tax on your income tax, though. Most states would probably get rid of their income taxes as well.:)

Macromedia will also soon introduce Flex, a set of server software and other tools that will allow developers familiar with text-based environments--particularly Java--to create Flash applications.
Flex. If they port that to Linux, that'd almost be a conflict with flex, the free version of lex. Maybe they'll rethink the naming?
Are they doing this as a response to SVG? Especially since Microsoft is "embracing and extending" SVG into WVG? It'd definitely be easier, without a Flash MX that runs on Linux, for Linux users to develop SVG than Flash. Many of the people that create interactive content that's as advanced as Flash are geeky enough to love or at least know how to get around in Linux.
If you re-RTFA the article that the post you linked to links to (parse THAT!), you'll notice that at the end there's a link to a new article that says MS has changed its stance and will continue to develop Outlook Express.:)
Sorry to burst your bubble, but right-wing conspiracy theorists were there long before the left wing commies. See votefraud.org and votescam.com for examples. I don't know whether there's really a conspiracy like they believe, but they've been trying to make people aware of these issues since 1992 (votescam) and 1996 (votefraud).

Last I checked, the Samba website had a diatribe against SCO with a "we have the TrueSpiritOfOpenSource(TM) and we won't stop even litigious bastards like SCO from distributing our software" statement. Meaning, Samba is playing the moral high ground while SCO's fighting dirty.
The right to privacy may be implied in the 9th amendment, but it's a logical extension of the right of property which is protected by the 5th amendment.
Also remember that the Constitution does not grant rights, but sets up a government whose job it is to protect what are/were thought of as "natural rights" - things like life, liberty, property, and their natural extensions. Privacy is a natural right. Security is another aspect of the rights of life/liberty - if your person is not secure against another's aggression, then you don't actually have the right of life, but are granted a privilege of life by the charity of the person who does not initiate force against you.
Natural rights of course end where others' natural rights begin. Thus, when the nation was born, there was no wealth redistribution - someone's right of life did not mean that they had the right to be kept alive. So just because you couldn't provide for yourself doesn't mean it was okay to infringe upon someone else's right of property through taxation to artificially extend your right of life. Today's welfare state is moving farther and farther away from that idea.
Any company which supplies equipment or software to China in order to promote Internet use will have its software/equipment used to jail dissidents. That comes as a direct result of the fact that with the Internet, more dissent is possible. In a way, the only reason China is able to use the Internet (and software from US vendors) to jail dissidents is that the Internet and that software provide a means more powerful than any previously in existence to spread dissent.

To split any kind of water into H2 and O2 actually takes more energy than their recombination (burning H2 to produce H2O) provides. This is the principle of conservation of energy.
What this method has created is a cheap (energy-wise, and apparently, money-wise too) way of producing hydrogen, which can then combine with oxygen in the energy-producing burning reaction to produce water.
I'm guessing those costs are due to the difficulty of transporting oil in hostile territory. Oil tankers in general don't have rocket-propelled grenades flying at them. Plus, you aren't moving oil via the ocean - to get to Baghdad, you have to move over quite a bit of land, which gives hostile forces the opportunity to attack your supply line.
Between this and Thermal Depolymerization, which can turn any organic material into oil, we're going to be in hog heaven. Who needs to import oil anymore?:)

Ah, my bad. I was not aware of it. I'm just happy SVG exists. :)

Check out CodeWeavers' Crossover Office.
I think it means SCO is going to be suing Eolas for ownership of hyperlink technology. All your A tag are belong to SCO!
I'll just download South Park and Simpsons episodes. Who needs anything else?! :P

Very well said. To (mis)quote someone with a sharper wit than mine, "Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner."

Perfect for anyone with a weird fetish.
I got the memo. I just... forgot.
No, really, I have a copy of the memo sitting right here!

Hey, are you the TheSHAD0W from DALNet's #libertarian-politics?
This is eval (if you remember me). Look me up if you're still around on that network!
Absolutely. Add to this that even on its own, carbon is used as fuel (coal) and as part of some explosives (black powder).

Yeah, and it's already infected all of the lab's PCs!
