  1. Re:Circuit City has cash for the fight on Circuit City Ripping DVDs for Users · · Score: 1

Actually, I think the gp has a point. As long as the consumer actually owns both the medium and the transfer medium ( which CC could technically sell to the consumer - effectively making it a "value added" service ) it is no different than the consumer doing it themselves. The difference, in this case would be that the consumer is paying CC for their services and expertise in making the backup. Of Course, the standard disclaimers should be included (IANAL) .. but as long as it was marketed completely as a service and the consumer had to provide both mediums, the original and the backup - then I don't really see a problem with it.

Honestly... I've got an account on pretty much every free service and even a few paid services - if they ever want to go through ALL my emails - they're going to have a hard enough time just tracking them all down.

Although, due to the fact that he did "say" it, even in a form of electronic communication - it would be an "incriminating" statement made by himself and could be easily thrown out of court and unuseable as evidence, leaveing them back at square one.

Although not too many people seem to know about it, Google has a specific site for web shopping searches... known as Froogle. Haven't really used the site much myself yet, so I can't tell you how good it is, but it is designed to be an online shopping search, unlike the Google search engine which is not designed for this in particular and probably amounts for the changes they have made recently... I'd doubt if the two weren't linked, and if Google didn't mean to start promoting their product search engine soon enough.
