    I'm afraid the pertinent language there is, No State... It leaves us wide open to whatever the feds want to do. This "piece of paper" will not protect us. It was only seven years old when the first widely known violations occurred. And it's not property "rights" we must keep. Especially something so irrational as intellectual property. It's the right to life and liberty that we must enforce.

    The "3 second" rule is quite old and very sensible. And it works... for those who pay attention and don't have to be first to the red light. I wish the cops would hand out tickets for violations. Not a flame, just common courtesy and good sense. It has kept me accident free. I have since sworn off driving. Just not worth the hassle and expense. Now, watching the poor fools stuck traffic is a good source of entertainment.

    Gas, brake, honk. Gas brake, honk. Honk, honk, punch. Gas, gas gas. heh, suckers

    Keep your distance, even when you're stopped, and pay attention to driving the car, and that issue will go away. The insurance industry is perfectly aware, and correctly so, that if you rear-end somebody, it's YOUR fault. No ifs, ands, or buts.

    The purpose of these kind of rules is to give the authorities "probable cause" to knock your door down. To make everybody a "criminal". And to generate revenue and increase conscripted labor through the prison system.

    Your whole discussion here overlooks the one true advantage Linux has over Windows. I can take a surplus box and install Linux on it and give it away or sell it for 25-50 bucks without breaking the law (a seemingly favorite obsession of yours). Try doing that with Windows and staying in business. Oh, and switching amongst different languages has its advantages, too, where I live.

    Well, it is free as in thought.

    Highly dangerous for our authoritarian overlords. This will be one of the most liberating devices ever conceived. No longer will anybody ever be able to cripple our hardware again if we can make our own. No more DRM, censorship, etc. Wifi cloud, here we come.     People in authority shouldn't get a second chance. I know I wouldn't if I committed extortion. She's a common criminal who should suffer the same fate as any other common criminal. Too bad they let her off. But then, file sharers aren't exactly politically connected.
