I work for a well-known company (which for NDA reasons must remain unnamed) that is typically associated with "long hours."
It's not true. The extra hours are optional. Most of the folks who stay past 6 or 7 either REALLY love what they're doing, or have no idea how to manage their time.
The exception here is definetly eBay. By placing time restrictions on when people are able to buy items, particularly hard to find items, sellers are able to trick many buyers into believing they have to buy something.
With other vendors however, there are so many options for where you can buy things that often you have to spend weeks just comparing prices.
Even if all encyclopedias since the first publication of Britannica have required hordes of authors, the ability to instantly update information makes Wikipedia a cut above.
Thats absolutely right. After credit card fees and cost of operations, iTMS is doing marginally better than breaking even.
Taking 12% would cripple them, even if the patent is something that shouldn't be patented. Technically, all MMORPGS would also be breaking the patent, as they are software installed on a users computer that requires verification.
Also, Most CAD programs are requring this now, as well as tons of other software. So why is iTMS getting singled out?
Until now, AOL has been losing an estimated 2 million users per year.
I guess this is a weak attempt to generate new users and reclaim old ones, but without a competitive broadband service, they aren't ever going to be successfull again.
I remember when I was in college, there was this kid in one of my physics classes who thought he was smarter than the professor. He always tried to point things out, and every time, I (the TA) had the wonderful priviledge of making him look like an ass.
This is what I wish on SCO, if you know what I mean.

LOL, I'm actually quite excited that XCode 2.0 is going to ship with GCC 4.0.0
Glad to see they are targeting the AMD64 architecture for improvements.
Good point.

I very much like Evolution because:
1. It installs much more quickly, and
2. It is better integrated with GNOME.
However, I have been hearing good things about the new version, so I guess you'll just have to install it and see for yourself.
if you update your portage tree, it might already be there. I know its there on mine.
And yes, it is running much faster now.
I just think the new logo looks way cooler than the old one

By using filters and mail forwarding, I haven't gotten any spam in the past 2 months, so the increase in spam is certainly news to me.
Well said...I feel like I'm 8 years old and reading Coraline was definetly an experience, to say the least.
I find it interesting the the keynote address was about Microsoft's "Vision of the future." I'd say more, but its just not necessary.
The Empire of Ice Cream....I want to live there

boogers are tasty
SCO is the reason we should be allowed to take someone out back and beat them over the head with a shovel.
Lint is a waste of time, which makes Stallman's Lint a really really big waste of time. I mean, the guy is still endorsing Dennis Kucinich!
Why waste time developing a new system, when you can buy really nice ones on the black market for next to nothing?
